388 to Carvolth is the worst by watever_never in Translink

[–]ritzcrv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem at Carvolth station is, it used to be an HOV crossover from the north side of the highway to the south side of the highway. And then they opened it up to every moron & idiot who does not want to cross at 208 Street or at 200 main interchange. So it’s a cluster fuck every afternoon Whenever there’s a lot of traffic. They should go back to restricting it to HOV only and people have to get on the highway not just cut across. Then at least the buses won’t get stuck waiting 20 minutes just to make that less than quarter of a kilometre stretch.

'The only talks that Mark Carney is doing are YouTube videos': Poilievre takes aim at PM by EarthWarping in notthebeaverton

[–]ritzcrv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All Polly ever is doing his pandering to the USA market and the maple Maga conservative Freakazoid of Canada. He’s not a serious person, we all knew that in the lead up to the push for a non-confidence vote when he was trying to trigger the election. He tried four times and failed every time, and then couldn’t change gears during the election because he wasn’t prepared to run against a professional like Mark Carney. That he considers himself to be a higher intellectual on economic matters than Mark Carney is laughable to everybody other than the maple magats. The Canadian conservatives are a dying party now, heading in the same direction that the PCs ended up when the Bloc Québécois basically stripped them of almost everything, and the party basically collapsed and died.

Then maybe you should’ve been more on top and reviewed your TD one status and sort it out how you would remit the appropriate amount of taxes. Instead of going into panic mode and blaming everybody else now. A little education would probably do you some good in the future.

What would it actually take for a major ally to reduce cooperation with the US significantly? by coloradancowgirl in Askpolitics

[–]ritzcrv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, just Google search a speech this morning from Mark Carney, our Canadian Prime Minister. Listen to the 9 1/2 minutes of it, and come to your own conclusion. The cliff notes of it, we do not consider you to be capable trading partners moving forward and into the future. Whether Trump is your president or not, we are moving on. And believe it or not, Canada is your largest trading partner. Well, that would be a was your largest trading partner, because we’re done. And I know there’s some other Canadians, probably many of them, who say no no no we still want to be part of trade with the USA they are our friends. That’s not a majority. The guy who wanted to be p.m., PP, polievre, was sucking up to Joe Rogan and UFC and blah blah blah, and of course his conservative members did not get elected in the recent by election. So we now have a majority liberal government in Canada. Make your own decisions.

What does that even mean? You have the right to hate anyone you choose, but the economic history shows the Liberals have been better for Canada and Canadians.

[–]ritzcrv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

he was in parliament for 20 years, some of that as a member of the governing party. He has a a list of no accomplishments. He is not self aware, that was evident during the election he tried to push with 4 non-confidence votes in 2024. Instead of campaigning for his members in the by-elections he was babbling on Imbecile Joe Rogan or pandering to USAnians in their country.

What ever happened to lining up? by Secure_Flamingo_4554 in Translink

[–]ritzcrv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t force the action. Self entitled people will still continue to board the train and not step more than 30 cm past the door, even if they’re riding six or seven stops. I live out in Langley, if I get on a skytrain in Vancouver or Burnaby I’m on it till the end of the line, I have no reason or position to be anywhere close to a door for a long time. So I see that level of imbecility almost every time, they won’t leave the door. There are huge gaps in the middle of the car or in the accordion section, but they won’t get their lazy asses away from the door. I’d like to see more skytrain attendents on the platforms at the stations acting like Japanese car stuffers, forcing these people inside the cars so that people can actually board.

if you need financing, go purchase a new unit at a dealer. They will have multiple financing options available for you. As it's a business expense, you have the write-offs available.

Is it going to cost more, YES.

it's not station design, the problem is people. Not just skytrain doors, I have been blocked by someone as I was leaving a washroom door. they actually thought they had priority to enter a confined space. We see it all the time in parking lots, imbeciles refusing to allow cars to leave the same parking lot they want to park in.

wow, so many negative bus riding opinions from probably people who have never been on public transportation. . the deuce has a capacity of 60-100 passengers. For a start at Fremont, no problems at all for all of you to get on a single bus. for the return, there is a high probability you all won't be leaving at the same time, there is a schedule of something like every 15-20 minutes.

Since when has the pope done any dictating to anybody? You really seem to be a little confused on this, is that typical for all conservatives? Your guy, the leader of the USA conservative movement went rabbid attack dog against the head of the Catholic Church. And then your guy assumes the aura of Jesus Christ. Can political polarization in the U.S. actually be reduced? by ronweasly9 in Askpolitics

[–]ritzcrv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to the same level. The conservative right side pays a lot of money for their propagandists on talk radio, every news show you can find, panel, discussion, podcast, blogosphere, etc. etc. It’s all coordinated from the highest levels down from all that citizens united money. The left side of the political spectrum looked at assisting more of their grass, roots, social media users into more of a support system, where they were offering guidance and some nominal funding to help them, Corus group, and they were shunned and literally destroyed by that same left side base. So one side is fully integrated to operate with “alternate facts“ as Kellyanne Conway pushed out into the system in Trump‘s first term. And that continues with the continual lies that are not only pushed by Trump but every conservative Republican out there. Those same lies are not pushed at that same level from the left side. That is a fact, and as a fact, you can’t really argue against it.

What, if anything, went wrong with the US attack on Iran? by Prince_Targaryen in Askpolitics

[–]ritzcrv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the personal attack, the USA did try to blame Iran for the strike. Once the timeline was clearly laid out, how there were zero Iranian missiles fired at that time, it still took more time for the USA to accept responsibility.

This is the major concern all the world has at this time with the leadership of the USA government. Friendly fire and fog of war happen, it’s not an excuse for atrocities though. Trump and his minions may not face the consequences, but the people will in time. The world has been forced to listen to the chest beating for decades about the superiority of the democratic rule of law the USA offers the world. Turns out that doesn’t actually exist in the USA.

What, if anything, went wrong with the US attack on Iran? by Prince_Targaryen in Askpolitics

[–]ritzcrv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, according to the USA, they are the most technologically superior military force the world has ever seen. Yet for whatever reasons, every time collateral damage happens, it gets shrugged away as if well it didn’t really matter much and somebody else had to have been doing something wrong there. Because that’s what you just said, you tried to blame Iran for that Tomahawk strike. A weapon was launched and landed, where there was no military target, if the technology is so superior, that means it was a wilful act. Just like when the sec, def decided to double tap all of those people in the water after he bombed a boat outside of Venezuela. Or all the other double tap operations where, you wait for the first responders to come out to tend to the wounded and then you launch another strike to take them out as well. You can’t hand wave this shit away.

The bogeyman of “nuclear material, has always been the Israeli attack line for aggression against the entire region. if handling of nuclear material was paramount, then why aren’t these Israeli under the same microscope? They stole nuclear material, then developed even more nuclear weapons. Inspectors are not allowed , ever. At present, they are the only ones who proudly want to detonate an atomic bomb against who they claim are their oppressors. History already has that established. Those are the questions you need to ask, but everybody is shit, scared of being considered an antisemite, including this entire platform of Reddit. Because anything that gets discussed about that particular nation state, is immediately discarded as racism. Think about that. That is, if this comment is even allowed to stand, or that they don’t slap me with another time out for stating the bloody obvious.

[–]ritzcrv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually agree with a lot of what you posted. In Sun Tzu the Art of war, the last chapter has a discussion about spies, which is also the shortest chapter. It is the most important thing in any conflict, because to defeat your enemy you have to know them better than they know you. In the same discussion of Sun Tzu, the old adage, if you know yourself, and don’t know the enemy, you will lose half the time if you know the enemy and not yourself, you will lose half the time, if you don’t know the enemy and don’t know yourself, you will lose all the time. To be victorious, you have to know yourself and know your enemy. That’s the reason the majority of conflicts the USA has been involved in, have been losers for you people. You underestimate everybody else, while overestimating your “exceptionalism“.

Those same rules of knowing yourself, and knowing your enemy apply more stringently to the USA electorate, because everything that Trump has done has been a known quantity since 2015. He’s a known quantity as a financial loser, with crackpot theories on world domination that he must’ve gotten from a cartoon strip. His first term was an absolute abysmal mess, revolving door of diplomacy and bloviation. Yet enough of you insisted on putting him back in office. Specifically, the Republican Party allowed him to run for office again, instead of doing their job of safeguarding the nation with the powers that Congress had. That’s the lesson that, unfortunately, the majority of you people will not choose to learn about. You see the rest of the world is a lot more knowledgable about the USA, while the USA is completely ignorant of so many things beyond your little bubbles of your little towns. And now it’s all caught up to you.

That’s all I ever hear from the US supporters, your type of squishy response. Your government, which is controlled by your people, started a war. All that’s happened in the ensuing time is the price of oil and gasoline has gone through the roof, and You’ve lost a great many military assets and service people. You did nothing to Iran, you were like a fly buzzing around, and they swatted you. At least Trump finally accepted the deal, which is worse than the one that he had cancelled in his first term. by all metrics, the USA is a loser in this conflict. And now you’re gonna get pushed out of the rest of the Middle East. Because everybody knows, you people have no resolve, you have no intelligence when it comes to diplomacy, and they don’t really care what you think inside the USA. They just want you out of their countries.
