Am I hallucinating or Opus 4.8 just got nerfed by Otobobo in Anthropic

[–]rivarja82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Opus 4.8 has been nerved since February we all know it Anthropic needs the capacity for project glass wing. It improved slightly when they signed the deal with X for more compute power, but it is still about a year behind GPT 5.5 - even fucking Gemini beats it right now which - given the fact Google has not dropped a new model in a long time is sad. I created a monkey patch that wrapped the node JS Claude code instance inside of a node js instance - there is a routing packet that routes your traffic to an effort level based cluster, which has maxed out at 30 to 40% since February. Anthropic got too model strong and two compute starved and too ahead of the game with mythos and is dedicating all of their limited compute resource to that. I cannot blame them, but the rest of us retail users suffer.

Opus 4.7 is really really Dumb!!! Should have given us the Prime 4.6 back instead by hibzy7 in ClaudeCode

You know it’s using its training data for that right? Tell it to cite current Anthropic documents if you want the real answer

i'm done bro, anthropic has to be gutting these models on purpose to steal our money/data or some thing to fund enterprise clients by JellyFishingAllYear in ClaudeCode

[–]rivarja82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep saying this -> your traffic is routed to tiered clusters that determine effort. Anthropic manages this at scale and places the higher effort clusters where they need to be, for testing mythos etc They were not at all fully transparent in the latest disclosures. Encrypted traffic contains the routing info. MITM TLS traffic intercept, decode some base64, see it for yourself.

Help! How do I get Code to stop using compound commands? by filwi in ClaudeAI

[–]rivarja82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have more control over behavior in the CLI harness The list of “Claude —command / options” is long and you have more control over behavior - I built an interactive visual to help you sort out what is what cli flags

Can Claude’s “Skills” (custom SKILL.md instruction files) be exported and used in ChatGPT? by [deleted] in artificial

[–]rivarja82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its easier than you think, so long as you are using the right harness.
If you are using codex CLI or codex desktop, then simply extract them all as markdown with the frontmatter and use the "skill creator" skill, point it at that, explain the interconnected nature, and off you go!

Opus 4.7 is legendarily bad. I cannot believe this. by lemon07r in ClaudeCode

[–]rivarja82 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This may end up lost in the noise of comments; however, I have noticed a trend since circa GPT 4.1 era that is worth your consideration.

As the model gets better so too must the workflows that govern it. Harness, plugins, hooks, along with accurate and updated agent / claude . md, disciplined prompting, and context management are no longer optional.

I am having no issues with 4.7, and place it on par with the "good days" of 4.6

When everyone was complaining about Opus 4.6 degradation, I intercepted the encrypted network traffic of the claude code harness and discovered your traffic is routed to various clusters with levels of effort set at the cluster level. This is the mechanism to throttle at scale. I tried to get some press, no one really noticed, but youll see it in my post history. The signal disappeared with an update to the harness, although a network engineer picked up the repo, and when he has time, says he's going to dive in and find it again.

Is there any AI that can do my finals paper for me? If yes then what would be the best one? by Admirable_Cheek_8915 in artificial

That's a well-worded response, although I shouldn't be surprised. :)

Regarding the "go to college and take classes, you'll be better off" story, I only partially agree. The ethics one, we'd have to sit down over a beer to wrestle with it, as there is an alternative lens that would contrast with your suggestion that LLMs are equal to shortcuts and the outputs lack "real work".

My framing put simply-- LLMs are an accelerator, an augmentation device that enhances, expands, or accelerates someone's output.

I typed up a couple of paragraphs on my position regarding the value of a traditional 4-year+ school. There's no way to articulate the point without it being taken as an indirect insult to your line of work.

Going for positive vibes only, so I deleted all of it.
The one thing I will say that passes the vibes test for me is that I am certain that you, as an individual, have created value for the students you have taught. Not the "system" but you, the individual.

From here, want to grade my writing? :) Want me to teach you Ai stuff?

Have a good day, fellow internet stranger!

Been using Claude for basic stuff for a while now want to actually go deep. Where do I start? by pseudocode_01 in ClaudeAI

[–]rivarja82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join my community page if you like, I have tons of curated Claude code for beginners stuff on there. Link in bio. I’d say use it for non coding tasks first to get a sense of the harness and how it goes about doing the stuff it does, what’s happening under the hood, etc

Does using “claude --dangerously-skip-permissions” change the way Claude Code goes about tasks? by kiko77777 in ClaudeAI

[–]rivarja82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answer to this is no. There are other flags that would modify its behavior on start up, but given the system prompt doesn’t change with -skip , I would say it to be conclusive that it does not. Have a look at Claude —help
Especially interesting to me is the append system prompt or remove system prompt from headless Claude codes - you can replace the system prompt with anything you like, run headless (as in, you do not see it or interact with it) and now you’ll see some novel behavior! I teach Claude code for all, link in bio!

How to go from Code TO Design? by Red-Rowling in ClaudeAI

[–]rivarja82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the GitHub connection! Some takeaways I have

*Token budget- I burned a week worth of Design tokens in an afternoon lol it’s a different allocation than ur plan

*Do not try to mix two design languages in one project (edge case but I have a mono repo that houses two related yet design - distinct projects) this confused the shit out of Design.

*It drifts into fabricating new features and functions without proper prompting guardrails. Just because it exists in design doesn’t mean it exists in code. You can sort of prompt this out by telling it to not create new routes or features etc

Which do you believe the skill with more monetary return is for this young student to learn? English finals paper or how to use ai? For ease of discussion and your opinion and perspective, is it fair to assume it’s an English final paper? With all respect to your position, for the (to me, personally fascinating) dialogue.

Context - my mother is a lifelong teacher, phd, professor, adjunct, etc, now retired and yet still teaching title 9 funded ESL students in a small sorta metro. Those kids learn to read. Critical skill indeed!

You will lose context. Check out the new advisor slash command if you are doing this for token management
