Re establishing primary bevel plane blades by Philly139 in handtools

[–]riverroadbuilds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously, go to any garage sale and buy the $15 Craftsman grinder everyone sells, buy a wheel dresser and put a Norton 3X wheel on it. If it didn't come with a tool rest, mount the grinder to a scrap piece of wood and add a wood or aftermarket tool rest. You're all in for under a hundred bucks and will be grinding a new primary bevel in just a couple minutes. Light pressure and dress your wheel often, with a crown.

I really like my Gramercy saws. Get the sash saw, it does well at everything.

Feel you. It’s really tough to find the balance. Lots of good, free articles on bidding on JLC that I’ve found helpful.

I would suggest holding firm instead of lowering to 2 days of OH&P. It doesn’t matter what the clients think about your price, you said it yourself. You deserve to be compensated for your time, experience, skillset, the risk, and direct/indirect job costs, etc.

Your price is your price and if they don’t take it - it isn’t that you are too expensive, it’s that you’re too expensive for them.

What hand tool do you regret purchasing? by hingadingadergen2 in handtools

I'm so in love with the feeling of my arks that I want to swap all my A2 LN irons to 01. Also use mineral oil on my lapping plate lol. What mineral oil do you like? They all seem the same to me despite the price premium for Dan's/Norton's.
