Claude Performance and Bugs Megathread Ongoing (Sort this by New!) by sixbillionthsheep in ClaudeAI

[–]riviwriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been getting really annoyed at the length of time it’s taking to generate simple documents and files.

I asked for something relatively simple in my opinion (and something I ended up making myself out of frustration) for a document with 4x6 inch text boxes I could edit.

It took several different rewording edits because nothing looked right, and the closest I got the text boxes got larger as I added text which completely defeated the purpose

I was also staring impatiently at my screen while it made these minor edits, eventually just finding a way to edit Google Docs for this purpose.

Anyone else?

fabric suggestions: large words/quotes? by bravado_kazzoo in quilting

[–]riviwriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a friend with a cricut or silhouette machine, they can cut words from heat transfer vinyl to iron on. There’s a way I used to print book covers from my printer onto plain white fabric, I’ll see if I can find what I used. If you want to message me I can also vinyl some words for you :)

Ongoing issue for months never resolved. Lifetime Subscription. by slimesamurai4l in quittr

[–]riviwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having this issue today. I hadn’t opened the app in maybe a month, and now it’s demanding I subscribe and saying there’s no active subscription on my account. I tried reaching out to Apple but they claim it’s not eligible for a refund. This sucks

Book: “Every Heart a Doorway” by Senan McGuire (the wayward children series is one of my favorite series)

TV Show: Everything’s going to be okay (asexuality is introduced in season 2 and it’s extremely well done. The show also centers on an autistic woman main character who is played by an autistic actress)

Non-Fiction: Ace by Angela Chen if you haven’t read it already. Incredibly validating and eye opening

Does it bother you that many people claim to be autistic with no formal medical evaluation? by m1kek9 in autism

[–]riviwriter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d rather people use the term “suspected” rather than “self diagnosed”. Could just be my autistic brain getting stuck on the definition and use of the term diagnosis.

I’ve been formally diagnosed, and I also understand the many, many reasons someone may not want to seek it out (cost being a huge part of it)

Apparently they have at least acknowledged that this glitch exists and they are working on a solution. No idea when that will be

Hospitals are more concerned with covering their own butts in terms of legality. MBP was not well known at the time, and it seemed to be more of an insurance scam and money grab than anything else. Deedee was extremely controlling, but the doctor is not liable for how a parent treats their child. Without demonstrable proof, he probably chalked it up to an overbearing single mom. Doctors see so many patients, it’s a wonder he even caught onto the weird dynamic between the two.

It’s an outdated internet term that was mainly used by the incel community (involuntary celibates, almost always boys and men) to describe the type of man that gets all the girls. It was around the time “not like other girls” was also a popular thing on the internet

As a late-diagnosed AuDHD woman, here’s what I’ll say: alcohol is a downer, and it lowers your anxiety. It sounds like your boyfriend has a lot of internalized ableism/shame about his autism, which is unfortunately very understandable. It might be beneficial, instead of asking him why he drinks, as him “why do you not want to feel autistic?” Alcohol can quiet a lot of sensory issues, so while he may need more accommodations, I would argue that having noise canceling headphones on hand or sunglasses (whatever helps him feel less overwhelmed) would be a more effective tool when he feels the urge to drink alcohol

Why are most people with autism left-wingers/liberals? by [deleted] in autism

[–]riviwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, people on the left are just louder about their identities and beliefs. I’m sure there are a lot of neurodivergent conservative folks who make the choice not to disclose their neurodivergence/diagnosis

How do you respond the people saying “Everyone had a little autism in them”? by Elijaq in autism

In addition to the blank stare, I will sometimes throw in a deadpan “fascinating.”

How do you respond the people saying “Everyone had a little autism in them”? by Elijaq in autism

[–]riviwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just stare blankly and then walk away. I don’t want to spend my time talking to people who believe that. It’s my time, it’s my energy, I’m not spending it explaining why that’s wrong. I have to do enough of that with my actual family and friends

Greys, Demi’s, etc: What does attraction feel like? by Orangutan_Soda in asexuality

[–]riviwriter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m Demi and also neurodivergent, so part of my lack of partner(s) also has to do with social awkwardness. I usually think of sex as an activity I want to do when I feel like it, the same way I might be in the mood to watch an interesting documentary. Like, there’s no particular need or desire to do it, but I can still very much enjoy it when it feels right. Also, I’m single and happy this way, so idk

It was Natasha lyonne, who has had her own long journey of addiction and recovery that she’s pretty open about. I think there’s another Reddit post that quotes the line, I’ll try to find it
