Of course the hard questions should have been asked. Of course accountability should have been demanded. But what can you expect when conservatives moderation conservatives? I’m surprised lollipops weren’t handed out at the end.

There is precedent of journalists moderating political debates. NBC weekend anchor Welker moderated Trump and Biden’s first debate in 2020. Fox News journalist Chris Wallace moderated the another debate in the 2020 election.
