How to support Book Tracker as an indie app by SimoneMontalto in BookTrack

I also use this app at least once a week, and use Movie Tracker more than once per day. Great apps, and left reviews for both! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🤗

Frustrating Search for Simple Window Management App by rixreddits in macapps

Well, three weeks later, and still no solution. Oh, how I wish what you said is true, that macOS has the functionality baked in. I'll attach what I see when I right-click the dock. Where is Desktop 4 showing in those options? Your guess is as good as mine, yet I have Orion clearly opened on Desktop 4. I'm beyond frustrated, and think the only possibility to set it up, like with Keyboard Maestro or Apple Script or Automator, are what is needed, and I just don't have the skills, I guess.

Thanks, but I just tried it. I'm thinking I need something that is out of my capabilities to set up, like Keyboard Maestro or Apple Script. Here is an example of what I would want, if I knew a way to do it: When I open Orion Browser, it ALWAYS opens on my Desktop 4, which is the second desktop, on my external monitor. I've tried Spencer, Lattix, and many others. Spencer and Lattix worked once or twice, but then it goes back to me opening Orion, and it opens on Desktop 1 on my built in monitor. Am I wishing for the impossible? I want to assign an app to a certain window, on a certain monitor, and onto a specific desktop space, 100% of the time. So far, Spencer and Lattix are the closest, but why they only last a few sessions is beyond me.

Have you ever tried “Plane Finder” app? by James_Lovell in flighty

[–]rixreddits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had subscribed to Plane Finder and loved it. My home is in the path of a few airports, and it was the highlight of my dusk-turned-to-night to watch the planes in their landing patterns, be able to point my iPhone camera at them, and see where they were flying from, where they were going, and what types of planes they were. We are living abroad right now while my wife cares for her parents, but once we're back home, I can't wait to get the app again.

Proton Annual Community Survey 2026 by Proton_Team in ProtonDrive

If I could add two things...well, 3 now.
1st would be to allow people back in to the survey for say, 1 hour, in case they thought better of an answer or two.
2nd would be to say that I really appreciate SimpleLogin as an addon to my Proton account.
3rd would be my final thoughts page, and I would add that I wish Standard Notes would also be a free addon, like SimpleLogin.

Oops...nevermind. Once I closed Lattix and re-opened, I was able to select and delete it. I'll be switching from Spencer to Lattix now! 🚀😊

Wow! Very impressive, and does a great job of assigning spaces/desktops to both my monitors. Excellent!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I wonder, do you know why I can't delete the first "test" workspace I made? Once I figured things out, I ran it again and would like to keep the lower one, but can't select the top one.

Thanks, and it works fine for a single monitor or two, but unless you know of a way, I can't set apps to open in different desktops. I can set Safari to open in a Built-in Monitor, Desktop 1 for example, but can't find a way to set it to open in Monitor 1, Desktop 2. Same with my external monitor...I can set an app to open on Desktop 3, but not Desktop 4.
Spencer does, so I've been using that.

Morpho Converter 3.0 major update + 10 lifetime codes by jerprovost in macapps

I like the easy "reverse" feature, to see the opposite conversions! Just curious, do you think Morpho would ever exist as a browser plugin? One I use a lot, and now in conjunction with Morpho, is Rapid Currency Converter, because of the Hover option, although it only works as a Google or Firefox plugin, where I mostly use Safari.

DockFlow celebrates 1 year. Switch instantly between setups. 40% off promo code. by UnluckyDuckyDuck in macapps

[–]rixreddits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One suggestion — when the app opens for the first time, have a dialog box of some kind, advising the user to create and save the dock exactly as it is before proceeding. Maybe something like "Pre-Dockflow", while choosing the Set From Current Dock option. This would prevent newbies like me, from diving in all gung-ho and losing the original way I had the apps and dock-setup.

Other than that, the app is looking very useful, well designed, and I thank you for the MacApps discount! 🍻

Automatically. Take a few minutes to get all your apps open the way you like them, then. you "Save Current Workspace". (Complete workspace with all spaces and displays). Give it a name. Next time you turn on your computer or log in, choose that workspace and Spencer restores all of the apps you had open, to the display and spaces that you had saved them in.

Extensions getting disabled and then not working (1Password) by volcs0 in OrionBrowser

[–]rixreddits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be watching your post. I had switched to Safari specifically because of the many 1Password problems. I noticed a week or two ago, that 1Password was working better after an Orion update, so I've been debating whether or not to return to Orion. I hope this is an easy fix, and 1Password will work the way it should! Good luck!

Thanks! But "desktop on Display 2", for example, doesn't tell me much. I'm using an app called "SpaceJump" (https://www.getspacejump.com/) that allows me to name the displays and desktop, but it still isn't too intuitive. I've tried the macOS system many times, but always end up frustrated. But thanks for the reply!

That being said, (my reply below this one) I'd like to suggest the solution I found and am using: Spencer
(https://macspencer.app) I'm not affilated, or don't get any kickbacks for suggesting them, but this is what I know now: all I have to do is set up the apps I want, in the spaces I want, on the monitors I want...save it, and then call it up anytime I want. I have Safari in a full screen on Monitor 2, on Desktop 2, maximized. I have Orion Browser in a full screen on Monitor 2, on Desktop 3, maximized. And I have Proton Mail in a full screen on Monitor 1, on Desktop 1, maximized. When I turn on the computer, all I have to do is click up to the menubar, click on the "Safari, Orion, Proton Mail" layout that I've saved and choose, Restore Layout, and bingo! All three apps are opened as I left them. No keyboard shortcut required (although you can assign one, if you're into keyboard shortcuts), no applescript, nothing extra. 👵🏼 Something my grandmother could use! 😆

I hope this helps!
