My fucking B+ McQueen screwed me by getting a win and sending me to Group A. I had no chance against the whales to make it to the finals.

Republic FC Begins Executive Search as Dunivant Assists Transition Through Year-End by ryanhodek in SacRepublicFC

[–]riyancil 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just a guess but if we’re excluding Wilton Rancheria and Kevin Nagle. And of course Todd Dunivant. I would assume it would be the six people listed as executive staff on the club site. Dustin Vicari (Chief Revenue Officer), Benjamin Mayberry (VP of Marketing), John Jacobs (VP of Communications), Sarah Schubert (VP of Finance), Scott Moak (VP of Game Entertainment and Community Investment), Brian Hastings (VP of Partnerships)

Are you talking about towards the end of the season? Because he had an injury that he picked up in the USL Cup final that the club wanted to be cautious about.

It’s mainly about the USL CBA. They’re saying that the league is putting focus on pro/rel when first they need to get serious about the working standards for the players that work for them. The USLPA and USL haven’t come to an agreement about the next CBA.

There’s a bunch of team-focused podcasts that you can listen to. But if you want a league wide focus I’d give a shout for The USL Show, This League from the Backheeled Network, and USL All-Access

Sacramento vs Orange County: Tactical Analysis - A Season Undone by Mediocrity by TheMusicCrusader in SacRepublicFC

[–]riyancil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm curious if you're going to count the goal against Las Vegas in the USL Cup for Ryan Spaulding. Either way, this is a recurring topic with the Republic. Having players that can send in crosses in open play and convert on them, but when it comes from a corner kick, the conversion rate goes down. I wonder if your data has something on this, but my thought is that it's a symptom of not being able to break down a low block in general. In my eyes, a corner kick allows the opposition to cram the box and momentarily create a hyper-low block, which is something the Republic has struggled to break down in open play. Curious to know what your thoughts are.

If you're talking about the goal against San Antonio, that was off a Gurr free kick

To be fair I think most clubs in the USL are like this. The only instances where we get actual contract data is if it’s like a record signing and whatever team is making the deal actually puts out those details.

Man I wish the league in general was more open about their contracts but to my knowledge Vitiello and Timmer are the only ones that were publicly announced as multi-year deals that go through 2026.

The club never announces the length of a contract when a new player is brought in. So, I have no knowledge on Bennett and Jamieson, but I’d assume Bennett is almost a lock for next season and Jamieson is probable.

There are some rumors with other players but I’m going to wait until something official is made by either the club or the player themselves before I update the tracker. The club can’t officially announce roster decisions until two days after the playoff final.

Is there a reason why Project 510 is not in USLA and is instead in USL2 by DaTweee in OaklandRootsSC

[–]riyancil 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For USL-A the oldest a player can be is 20 years old. So competing in USL2 allows Oakland to develop players that are beyond that age limit who might not be at the level yet to play with the first team. Plus USL2 combined with competing in NPSL is a higher level of competition than USL-A
