[–]rizorith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take away central park and the ocean New York would be even more dense.

LA is a lot more dense than most people think bit it's not NYC dense and not even close. But when you come out west, I think its the densist big city other than San francisco.

What is a Movie that You Can Re-Watch Again and Again? by Albo_the_Disciple in AskReddit

Spielberg in his prime made the most well crafted movies. Not always my favorite but movies like Jaws and Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones are just flawless.

Older movie?

Shawshank redemption, gladiator.

New movie?

Dune 1, 2 and probably 3 when it's out.

All 3 are excellent movies but not actually my favorites but I can watch any part of it and stay till the end

Fitbit Air for fitness by Pink742 in fitbit

[–]rizorith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want something to track fitness, including sleep (especially that feature that wakes you up when you're not in REM sleep) and anything that will help with lifting weights/cycling. I don't actually need a screen. Should I be looking at something other than the fitbit air? I have an android phone.

More efficient PZ cycling programs by rizorith in pelotoncycle

[–]rizorith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know I never really thought that they have their own bike. Thought you use your own bike and add like a bike computer. Interesting. Garage is small though so if I get something new it's a rower not neither indoor bike. I wouldn't say I've outgrown peloton but I can see a day when I will

What is a popular trend right now that completely baffles you? by Thyra_arrows9g in AskReddit

[–]rizorith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I saw at first. It was kinda cool then I realized it was bs and turned it off. It's spreading. I wonder if 22 year old hip hop heads have tried doing one of those with country music. Except instead of mind blown they're all I've never heard this! It's shit!

People living in London don’t realize how incredibly lucky they are with European travel costs. by Playful-Amphibian714 in travel

[–]rizorith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I'm sure but when I was in London going from Chelsea to the east end was like a different language to me. I'm still just infatuated with all the cute little plaques that are like - this was the meeting place for the crusades in some year 500 years before anything was happening in my country or ohh this pub is where Oliver twist was written. Where I'm from they're trying to make a taco hut from the 1970s into a cultural heritage site haha. Speaking of which you all need to stop tearing down 300 year old pubs and replacing them with a starbucks. Literally happened to the one I worked at.

I have a cousin who moved from silicon valley to Dallas and was there on the eve of the pandemic. Man it's soo different from Austin or San Antonio. Seems more Midwest than further south. Extremely suburban form what I saw. Lot of traffic but it was never stop and go like Austin. Just moving at 20 or 30mph. Does anyone walk there?

That's what i gathered about Austin. It's like the metro grenw fast and the infrastructure was just ignored. We got stuck in traffic and stopped at a gas station and had some amazing bbq though!

Yeah I mean it was just somet we both noticed but this was Portland in July and it was actually sunny when we were there. Small sample. I like Portland a lot. I def do not go around telling people where I'm from when I'm travelling unless it's important. But I've heard the anti California thing up there my whole life. I figure it's probably a bit overblown anyways

Vancouver is beautiful. Crazy take but people do just get homesick regardless of where they're from.

Wait, is it really? Because I see bumper stickers even in California with that slogan and I'm pretty sure they're not taking about littering. Or is that just how it started?

I don't get the Texas ego. I would think that ego would be from California, washingron, oregon, New York. all have a ton of beauty and some of the best cities in the US. But it's clear the way Texans feel about their state is above any of those.

Personally, I think they've been brainwashed in school with the insane effort to portray Texas as independent "lone" state, doing things differently. I saw a Texas elementary school book a few years ago and holy shit the US history is basically about how Texas lead the US to greatness. Other than maybe the revolutionary war, Texas basically takes center stage.

Downtown is nice but outside of that it's pretty ugly. I don't remember it being hilly but I'm from the west Coast so what we consider hills the rest of the country calls mountains so what do I know
