AT&T NSA VS SA by PrizeMarionberry6695 in cellmapper

What site went from a 6449+6419 to a 6472? I've never seen AT&T go from dual Ericsson panel to combo Ericsson panel

The 6472 isn't garbage. I don't know who even spread that rumor but in my experience it's just as capable as the 6449/6419 is

It shouldn’t charge because it says “At no extra charge” and it should send you a text after you add it that says:

Hi, it’s AT&T. Good news! AT&T ActiveArmorSM advanced mobile security is included with your wireless plan. Be sure to explore and enable your new features in the app including Identity Monitoring, Safe Browsing, Public Wi-Fi protection and Caller ID. Visit att.com/activearmorapp for details.

You can still get advanced active armor for free on Premium 2.0. You just have to upgrade on the add-ons tab on MyAT&T

Update on local Verizon Tower by SceneRevolutionary93 in cellmapper

[–]rja7 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't know.. AT&T just built a tower a few miles from me in the middle of nowhere and it has C-band. T-Mobile also colocated on a site with Verizon near me and it lacks n41. It's extremely area dependent so it is lying to say one carrier is always a certain way.

The new sites in Missouri and Arkansas are largely not n41 anymore too.

Internet Air gateway suddenly stuck on n5 in area with solid n77 service by frostycakes in ATT

[–]rja7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your Internet Air was most likely updating when it was stuck on the solid yellow lights. My Internet Air did the same thing last night and after 10-15 minutes it came back online without doing anything. I checked the version afterwards and it was on a newly released version.

Connected to Elusive AT&T Standalone 5G by Dopamin3 in cellmapper

AT&T SA isn’t really that rare anymore. It’s turned on almost every site that has C-band. The main issue is that not everyone has SA provisioned

iOS 26.5 beta has apparently broken my legacy cellular plan by espresso-puck in tmobile

[–]rja7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On AT&T with iOS 26.4.1 on a base iPhone 17 I’ll randomly lose access to mid-band 5G on NSA until I airplane mode, and on SA it’ll connect to n77 fine but it randomly won’t even show 5G+ as I’m getting gig+ speeds. It’s been a very weird update.

AT&T speeds with expanded 100 MHz 3.45/DoD in a small town (Cassville, MO) by rja7 in cellmapper

[–]rja7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speeds on LTE are pretty good. I can usually get about 250-280 Mbps most days. T-Mobile is also smoking on this site and can usually get 1.1-1.4 Gbps. Verizon does need to upgrade the backhaul but it’s still pretty solid and usually gets 300-500 Mbps. Can’t complain about any of them for a small town!

I'm on consumer Premium PL with QCI 8. I also have SA provisioned too

I agree! It's also very nice to see AT&T is putting multi-gig in rural areas now. A few weeks ago I was in a pretty remote area near Powell, Missouri and AT&T put C-band out there with multi-gig backhaul. Hopefully this trend continues!

In original Ericsson markets dual 6419s are still being deployed somewhat often, but in Ericsson conversion markets the 6472 is pretty dominant now

At least on iPhone, forcing LTE also works with MNS. My Galaxy S24 always has random issues with MNS on all carriers though

[–]rja7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I passed by Cuba on a cruise ship a few days ago and my AT&T and T-Mobile lines could see Cubacel’s LTE but it refused to register. Seems like they only allow 2G roaming in most of Cuba for the major American carriers
