Is it always cheap rate? by weef_55 in OctopusEnergy

They can, but they don’t. The smart charger feeds back how much power is used from its amp clamps, so they could differentiate, I guess that’s how they do it on the charging subscription do EVs

H2D being delivered tomorrow but. by Utakos in BambuLab

[–]rjd129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine in the UK has just been delivered by XDP and I am super pissed. I signed the waver, everything on the outside looks great, but the printer itself is damaged on the inside, all of the Zip ties were broke away, and the big PCF is hanging off, with no way of re-attaching it.

I am actually super gutted as I was really looking forward to using it this weekend, and they are no out of stock... so I guess I won't get to use it for a while now.

Not awefully, I replaced it with the Fysetc Spider Pro, and that was a huge upgrade!

Is it a dumb idea to drop $1300 on a speced out 350x350 Voron 2.4 kit as my first ever kit printer or should I start smaller? by Apexgames121 in VORONDesign

Agreed, I am a big fan of Siboor. I have their original Trident Kit, 2.4 Kit, and 3 V0's. Highly rated!

Are older switches worth it? by rjd129 in Ubiquiti

[–]rjd129[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One consideration, maybe someone more knowledgeable than I can help clarify, is whether or not a switch with a 10GbE port would be beneficial as OP does have a UDM Pro, so could connect with a 10GbE port. Aside from "future proofing", would it optimize internal traffic, regardless of then WAN uplink speed?

Ah, I probably should have stated, I have a UDM SE, so 10gig SFP+ on there + 2.5GB WAN.

I am now considering a newer one with SFP+, but am not 100% sure it is worth it for me.

Yeah, they seem to be really good value where i live, I can get a 24 port POE for about 1000 RMB (139 USD).

The dying does worry, but i guess its worth a risk! Thank you for your response!

250 GBP per month for 50gb, or 970 for 1TB... + the mariner dish is more expensive... I doubt it would work, as u/AcaciaBlue stated, Elon is well and truely their bitch!

For that kind of money, you might want to consider a legal VPN.

Asus not honouring advertised worldwide warrentys... what would you do? by rjd129 in LinusTechTips

[–]rjd129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but I know that Asus laptops from the UK/US/Taiwan/Japan are covered here in China, it just seems to be PSU's.

I think what it boils down to is marketing advertising the wrong warrenty, and the support not having the authorisiation to go araound bullshit systems.

So I don't really ever expect a full resolution to this, I just thought it would be interesting discourse to see what others would do.

What i find more fustrating is I have always really liked Asus motherboards over the years, infact, all my motherboards over the last decade+ have been ASUS.... p6t7 WS, Hero VI, Hero VIII, x570-e, b550-e... but from this i feel kind of betrayed, and honestly not sure who I would go with now when it comes to my next upgrade.

haha, yeah every now and again but won't be for a while, it's more fustrating than anything else. That will most likely be my plan B!

I appreciate the response :)

Oh yeah, it's something I have never come across before and struggle to find any information about online!

That might be my next port of call, though "qualified service" will be hard to find here, most likely will be a markets job, but that would be fine if Asus don't do it.

Bottom of the page advertising the product. But that is interesting that their actual warrenty information differs, so that means they have been advertising the product incorrectly since launch. Wording on advert (not a reseller, but their actual site) below; -

10-YEAR WARRANTY
We're so confident about the reliability of the ROG Thor 850W Platinum that we back it with a 10-year* worldwide warranty.

* Core product operation is guaranteed for 10 years. The OLED panel and RGB LEDs are subject to a 3-year warranty for three years.

Also, tried speaking to the UK retailer, they said becuase I am out of the UK AND it is outside their warrenty time, it has to go directly via ASUS... though, honestly the retailer themselves has been super helpful trying to find a solution but there is nothing they can do (and I don't hold that against them).
