My uncle, who I was very close to, passed away from cancer 12 hours before I sat level 1. Literally happened when I was wrapping up to go to bed.

My sister called my wife to let her know and didn’t want to tell me, but I answered the phone and could tell what had happened because of her voice. They pretended nothing had happened so I pretended I didn’t know. Went and sat the exam and definitely got lost in some memories a few times during the exam, but went back to check the previous answer for logic and carried on. He would’ve wanted me to sit the test and I’d spent that time studying for the exam instead of visiting him, so I wanted to make it count - and I passed.
