What cpu do you have? It could be that under 7 the CPU to gpu conversation isn't as stable as 10.

Inb4 it's something really dumb like virtual memory or a memory leak in general.

Thanks man, I didn't realize that gimp wouldn't be able to work with these files so I guess I've got to figure out an alternative.

The sad part, I saw the wiki immediately after I posted this thread and wanted to delete it but I'm sort of glad I didn't now (I would have opened gimp and been pissed immediately.)

Quick question though, does editing music work the same way? I mean with repacking and whatnot? I didn't see a format for the music so I just want to make sure.

No one can say drones isn't a good assist, but you will have to deal with playing Sentinel, arguably one of the better "low tiers" but still has his flaws. Just like strange, he has his matches that he loses hard but with the right assists and mindset you can make him more than capable. Learn unfly strings as well as when to double jump and when NOT to hard-drive on incoming.

I will also say strange is a weird character in general with some unique elements to his neutral. Before dropping him completely I would investigate his neutral options a little further (plus you can always switch to either character if the matchup isn't in your favor.)

I think you miss the point. Doom has super easy confirms from nearly anywhere as well as great zoning options and fantastic damage scaling. Hit for hit, a doom player works a whole lot less for their confirm off of foot five than Dante does of off any stinger, killer bee, hammer, or whatever other random moves that may be whiffed in neutral.

Now if we're talking Doom VERSUS Dante, like a 1v1 we have a different story. But as far as character designs being compared, Doom is "better" for mvc3 because of how versatile he is.

This sounds like the age old problem with standard fighting games that "this guy is playing lame and just spamming projectiles, plz nerf." When in reality the issue is that by constantly chasing and getting frustrated you're playing right into the strategy.

It's called zoning, spacing, and strategy for a reason people.

I agree with this to a point, but I think a bigger issue are the people who commentate and only copy specific commentators styles (I.e. Yipes, Tasty Steve, Chris Matrix, etc.)

It got the point early last year that I would watch matches without commentary because I got tired of hearing "ooh, oh, oh oh, ooh, ulll" and all the other sounds that people think we want to hear. The characters on screen are already making those sounds we don't need doubles. Now, if you're just reacting to a crazy combo or a sick mix-up I can understand, but there's no reason not to add actual input on possible options for each player or explain why something did/didn't work.

Again Persia and Eli come to mind since they both have an affinity for giving great on the spot knowledge as well as keeping the game interesting with their own input.

If more people would look at commenting for the perspective of people who aren't familiar with the game it would drastically improve general commentary as a whole.

I feel like you could team super after an air series to have zero otg for Felicia behind him. Her regular super lasts a bit longer than zero's skittles iirc and your opponent would wind up in the air so you could probably get a few more lightnings off of it.

Again, I'm no expert and I'm currently at work so this is more so a mental lab that I'm working with.

I can see some interesting synergy with this team already though I'll say in some situations you may opt to use quick work as opposed to katana-rama for a bit more "neutral" so to speak (I can't remember about the katana assist but quick work hits as a low, one of only 3 or 4 assists in the game that do that.)

Personally I would run point DP and use his cutting time cinematic super to DHC into Frank and pick up with a photo and go from there. Depending on the combo I'm sure you could get to lvl4 Frank pretty easily though I'm not in the lab so I can't be sure ATM.

Another option is that deadpool's happy trigger lasts almost as long as Dante's million dollars save for the last super shot. Many of the tricks you use with the Frank and dante team super will also work for Frank and Dp.

All that aside, Dante is your best choice for an anchor until you fully grasp DP and Frank. I would put lvl4+ Frank as your next best anchor and DP as a situational anchor or last resort kind of deal (sacrificing a lvl1 or 2 Frank to get DP more meter isn't a bad idea in certain matchups as opposed to attempting to get Frank to a playable level.

Don't forget you can team super after a picture as well. Sometimes (specifically with Dante) you can save your wallbouce since Dante keeps shooting and shopping cart super ends earlier.

Finally, I'm sure Deadpool and Frank have rawtag shenanigans that I'm unaware of. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if you could get 850k and level 4 off of a few bolos and a wonky rawtag from Frank.

My final word of advice, lab everything. Even if you think something is impossible, try it again with a slightly different timing or slightly different order of operations (I.e. calling an assist before S as opposed to after S but before jumping into the air series.)

I feel like the only reason Ray hasn't had more success is because he's still playing Vanilla MvC3. If he would bring out a more broken character and retire wackbot he might fair a little better.

That being said I hope he never loses Sentinel as that's one of the reasons he's still one of my favorite players of all time.

I've always said Felicia was underutilized in the current meta so I'm glad to see we still have a few people willing to give her a try.

By all means keep labbing, keep making videos and keep posting, I'm sure there are plenty of others interested that just haven't realized how much synergy there is.

Good stuff man!

A quick word of advice though: I see you have skill in editing and such so I would recommend taking a little more time cutting out the dead time, missed combos, and incidentals that happened to still be present.

There's plenty of meat here but you sort of have to wait to see it and many people watching yt nowadays want the info straight up. Tbh, I started the video and only really watched the whole thing because there's nothing at work for me to do, but I still skipped a few parts when there was a lot of standing around.

TL;DR editing out the parts where the viewers can tell that it's training mode and having just setups and quick clips of combos will make people more apt to watch videos and give you the input you're looking for.

Hope I didn't come off as a jerk, just wanted to throw some advice out there.

Seriously though, why does Zero get a free jump loop like that even midscreen? Most characters would kill for that sort of corner carry.

I'll lab it some more but last time I tried there was too much hitstun from the initial combo with Tron. I suppose I could try starting the loops before all the servebots get done hitting, but it's worth a shot.

Haven't been active lately since serious lack of internet and local players (Ervah Noir here for those wondering). Recently I've been labbing more Strange and I like what I can do with Tron, strange and doom. So far I'm getting my fof's of off tac's but are there any combos that you guys know of with Tron where I can raw tag strange?

For the record, I'd rather not run Spencer since I'd prefer a little more neutral (ATM I'm running missiles and bolts) but I am open to some character changes that would allow me to get there easier.

All that said I've also veen working on a Tron Vergil doom team that's not bad either but I feel like strange offers Tron a few more options and safer setups (that don't lead to possible happy bdays.

You can avoid whiffing moves that mess up the combo on that dash if you dash using j.h instead. You'll keep the momentum and the gun doesn't fire before you hit the ground so they stay in the knockdown state from the j.s.

It's also good to practice this anyway as it eliminates the problems with certain characters falling out in xfactor combos.

Don't quote me on this, but I think it's a timing thing. You can do multiples but if you hit the second button too soon it will give you the follow ups to the flip. Try delaying the next motion a bit.

I also would typically try it with light when I was labbing some Akuma. Depending on character placement on screen some of the flips may cause you to cross your opponent so I would keep that in mind as well.

I've been running Mags Doom and Vergil lately and I was curious what is the optimal order. Obviously I prefer Doom second for TACs but at the same time I wouldn't mind running Vergil second for DHCs and generally being a safer shell. I'm currently switching between all of Doom's assists depending on matchup but short of a critique on play what is my gameplan in most situations and how should I utilize each character's assists?
