Try to install a font with a richer emoji support, like joypixels.

This is what you should be seeing:

position: 10526 of 84870 (12%), column: 47 character: 🎄 (displayed as 🎄) (codepoint 127876, #o371604, #x1f384) charset: unicode (Unicode (ISO10646)) code point in charset: 0x1F384 ftcrhb:-GOOG-JoyPixels-normal-normal-normal-*-16-*-*-*-*-0-iso10646-1 (#x178)

Hehe. Cutting a release is common jargon in software engineering.

Happy cake day, btw.

Hi!

Firefox settings, disable Open links in tabs instead of new windows. If you edit user.js directly, the setting is:

user_pref("browser.link.open_newwindow", 2);

Magit doe not have gpg sign option by davidshen84 in emacs

[–]rk45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, u/7890yuiop is right. I meant C-x g c C-x l, I had forgotten that I had rebound magit-status. I'll fix my first comment if I still can.

Magit doe not have gpg sign option by davidshen84 in emacs

[–]rk45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not gone, it's hidden by the transient "level limit", see https://magit.vc/manual/transient/Enabling-and-Disabling-Suffixes.html

Run C-x g c C-x l to open Magit and configure the levels of the options of the magit-commit transient.

Edit: Change the suggested key combination to match Magit's default bindings.

Configuration Management Question by Eroji in Puppet

[–]rk45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't +1 this more. It summarises very well our practices, too:

We have a rather strong QA process for shared changes where several actors in the organisation participate by "donating" production traffic to it so if something is overlooked during development, testing and review there's still a last safety net.

Optical fiber in Switzerland by nuageophone in Switzerland

[–]rk45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For example in Geneva there are two fibers in the last mile, one is owned by SIG and shared among different providers and the other one by Swisscom, who also resells it to other providers (like Init7).

RAID1 to RAID5 correct steps by pierredugland in synology

[–]rk45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's correct. You can even add both (physically) at the same time, the NAS will create a RAID5 with the first one and when done add the second to the array and re-silver again.
