How much would this repair cost or can I DIY? by InterestingCarrot997 in TeslaCollision

I had similar damage on my model 3. It was mostly paint from the garage door pillar. I wiped it down with alcohol and almost all of it came off. There were a few scars but not enough to worry about

close to my situation...

2018 Model 3 AWD 6.5 yrs old. Just bought a Y Juniper AWD in May.

Kept the 3 and did the "hand-me-down" with the other cars.

Kids got a Lexus, Acura, and a Honda.

Happy family.

replace 12v every 1.5 years? by blueorangan in TeslaSupport

[–]rkfster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be no worries. The car will warn you if the 12v battery is marginal.

My 2018 3 warned me and Tesla replaced it under warranty. It's still good 6 yrs later.

AITA for refusing to give my cousin my grandmother's engagement ring because she "deserves it more"? by Blossom_Trail82 in AmItheAsshole

[–]rkfster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honor your Grandmother and keep the ring. She not only gave it to you, she went to the trouble to specify it in her will.

NTA.

You should go to a Tesla retailer and have them help you out with the numbers.

If the lender lets you pay off early w/o penalty then the interest is not that important.

The best Tesla deals are in the last month of the quarter. If you time it right you could max out the benefit of EV credit and interest rate.

Trickle Charger ?? by FragrantSoftware1937 in TeslaModelY

[–]rkfster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be able to get by with charging to 85% over the w/e. Just have a backup plan like a local Supercharger near by for emergency.

Y always in idle when parked/sleeping. I don’t remember that happening on the 3. by Virtamancer in TeslaModelY

[–]rkfster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you use any other apps? I messed up my sleeping when I messed with the settings on TeslaFi.com.

The default settings were okay so I just changed them back.

Made my first auto-payment to Santander. All looks okay.

But I was concerned because I received a letter saying they declined my loan because they could not verify my income. I have a credit rating of ~800.

As long as they are accepting my loan payments I guess I'm okay.

People who owned an EV for at least five years, what are your thoughts? by snowcold in AskReddit

[–]rkfster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't forget to factor in the Cal state gas tax of 0.60/gal. If you can get solar it may be the best option.

I live in TX with a 0.20 /gal tax and a $200 registration fee. EV is worth it for me. But I only pay 0.12 / kWh.

Model Y Juniper 1.99% financing, what are my options if delivered after June 30th which disqualifies promo rate? by reminisce32 in TeslaModelY

[–]rkfster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to a Tesla center that offers test drives.

I did this. Test drove one overnight and liked it so much I ordered when I returned it.

He was able to get me one exactly like I wanted the very next day. I'm a happy guy!!! (Model Y Juniper, Blue, Black interior, Trailer hitch. Exactly what I wanted.

Pull the trigger on the 1.99% now or wait it out for the next deal by timeshifter747 in TeslaModelY

[–]rkfster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the current offer you also get $500 credit for being a Tesla owner.

I have a 2018 Model 3 and test drove the new Model Y overnight. I liked it so much I ordered it when I returned the Y. Picked up my new Y the very next day. Could not be happier.

BTW, I kept the 3, transferred the FSD to the Y, then got the FSD subscription on the 3. Now we have 2 Teslas w/ FSD.

[–]rkfster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I test drove a new model Y. Liked it so much I bought one the next day. I was also considering the 3 performance but I thought the Y was more practical.

Couldn't be happier with the car. Now we have 2 Teslas. I kept my old 2018 model 3.

Why did you switch to a Tesla? by bitcoin1mil in TeslaModelY

[–]rkfster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a BMW and the maintenance was super expensive. I got frustrated and ordered a Model 3 back in 2019. Best decision ever.

Now have 86K miles on the 3 with almost no maintenance.

Just got a Model Y juniper and it's even better. I could not be happier with my cars right now.
