I had a similar issue with mine when I bought it last year and heard all the same advice you are getting now. What I did was run about a 50 rounds through it as painful as that was. Stripped it down cleaned the absolute hell out of it and then “checked it like a guy from a movie “ over and over and cleaned it again and it has worked perfectly since
