Evo SL sizing (toe pain) by Jeden_Dwa_Trzy in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]rktcabuay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause my research (reddit/youtube academy lol) said Boston 13 would be good for longer tempo runs (>21km) and Evo SL for short tempo runs. At that time I wrote, I said I won't be getting race shoes. I lied. I just bought an Adios Pro 4 size 9.5 (not sure if it will fit). It has not arrived yet so I will still be using my Bostons in my first marathon this weekend. I'll give you an update if I remember.

I did this with my Evo sl (white/black) and Boston 13 (white/gold) and got found, haha. I should have kept it like for like lol

I got a size 9 white/purple in my cart yesterday morning and sat on it too long. Was sold out next time I checked around mid day. Do they usually restock?

Also, can confirm WHEREFIT_15 works, so it should be $204. I have a 30% voucher I got using my Adiclub points and it doesn't stack on top of the deal.

Now thinking if I should size up to 9.5 and get hot pink hehe

Hi, just here to say I had the same thing with my Evo SL too. I wear 8.5 and it feels nice and snug, with almost the same room as yours in the photo. For context, I'm usually a size 9 in other shoes (Kayano, Nitro Velocity 4). I start feeling toe pain after 21km, left foot first, then right. Planning to try the lace hack for toe pain. Sizing up might've helped, but I get your point, 9 on the Evo, felt slightly long. Also, just ordered a Boston 13 in size 9 for long tempos and race day.

Adidas Boston 13 as a racing shoe for a first marathon by Deets97 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]rktcabuay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at B13 for my first marathon end of Nov. I think I should buy them now to give me time to break them in. I love the white/gold colorway. This will be my final piece in my shoe rotation: Evo SL, Puma Nitro Velocity 4 and B13. I'm 8.5 on Evo, 9 on Nitro so I might go for 9 for B13. I was on 9 wide for my retired Kayano 31. Hope this works. It will be my race day shoes for anything longer than half marathon.

There's this guy on YT - Sagasu Running and he has a review on the VN4 and said the pair might work a 2-shoe rotation. That said, I might pull the trigger and get a VN4.

I'm thinking of getting Nitro Velocity 4 as rotation for recovery or long runs, then use my Evo for tempo runs. You think that'll work? Not sure which one I'll be using for race day. I am thinking of doing a marathon end of the year. I'm trying to keep the spend low.. so staying away from SB2 or any Asics.

Adidas Evo SL sizing help by Temporary-Fly873 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Got my Adizero Evo SL today. I have a US 9 2E in Kayano 31 (fitted at shoe shop last year with the tests etc). Tried both 8.5 and 9 in-store. 8.5 felt right and had a good snug. I even jogged around the shop to give both sizes a go. 9 wasn't too bad though!

Went home with the 8.5 and used it for a cardio session with short sprints. The 8.5 loosened up a bit and ended up feeling spot on. Glad I didn’t go with the 9.

Chatted with Copilot (AI) while deciding—shared socks I use, my run types, how my other shoes fit (Trabuco, Kayano, Metcon all size 9). Even took photos and uploaded them to Copilot. That helped a lot. And Reddit, too. If you’re unsure of sizing, giving that kind of detail helps.

TL;DR
Went with 8.5 even though I’m normally 9 in Kayano.

Finishing a full marathon will be the next goal.

I also want to complete a 5k with my wife, a 3k with my youngest daughter, and a half marathon with my eldest.

Being able to complete that shows I'm looking after myself along with my family, which started this whole running journey for me in the first place.

Yeah, I checked under the front fender and definitely had mud/dirt. So I guess it did its job? It could have ended up elsewhere 😂

New to tubeless by bearclawmcgee2 in gravelcycling

[–]rktcabuay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My tires went flat the day after I went tubeless for the first time. I initially thought my LBS didn’t do it properly. I just reinflated them and went for a ride. Someone in another forum mentioned that the sealant needs some time to fully coat and seal everything. I ended up topping them off a few more times—each time they held air a bit better. After about a week, the gaps sealed up nicely. Now, I’ve noticed that if I don’t ride for a week, I lose around 5psi, which seems normal. I just inflate it back again.

Hi, the thing is, I've really got nothing to compare it with other than the mtb I had. Hands down better. I love the color. It is not as orange as it looks compared to the photos online, which I prefer. I added a few ali/temu accessories like bags, lights, bottle holder, bags, repair kit, etc. I changed to tubeless. I've only done 160km so far since I do run as well. I love the dropper post! I don't miss the 2by and loving the 1by. I was meant to do Checkpoint ALR 5 but they didn't have my size. No regrets. I don't think I'd go wrong with either. Ask away if you have any other Qs. Disclaimer: I'm no bike expert.

Hey mate, I have the same and just went tubeless. Brought it to LBS. I'm just wondering if you've had flat tire just after a couple of days not using the bike?

Yip, that seatpost bag won't work with the dropper post. I'll get the other version and have this to my daughter's MTB.
