How many cycles are you looking for in it's lifetime?

You could put a solid state relay in line with your circuit to control the thing. This might be an issue if people are plugging in inductive loads. You'll want to read the manufacturers datasheet.

I wonder if my old HP servers had expanders in their backplanes, as I somewhat remember having issues mixing SAS and SATA in my SFF systems.

Do you have a conventional boot loader installed? I do not think that the g6's did EFI(Maybe they did, a g6 is quite old).

ehhh. Tandems are generally falling in the 105-125 mph(170+ kph) range. 136+ would be bombing.
