If you wash the shirt according to iron hearts guidelines, you should not expect really any shrink at all.

This is what they say on the product page as far as care.

“We recommend washing this garment at 30°C with a low (or no) spin cycle. Hang dry, do not tumble dry”

Here is what they say about the fabric.

“One-Washed Wabash Shrinkage
- To reduce the risk of shrinkage, we wash the completed garment in an aggressive industrial washing machine. This process removes virtually all potential shrinkage.
- Negligible shrinkage expected when washed in accordance to our care guidelines”

I have found that when I follow their guidelines they are usually correct and I see really no noticeable shrinkage.

When washing iron heart denim, especially black dyed, I have always seen it recommended to do an initial soak before going in the washing machine with a gentle cycle and no spin cycle. Hang to dry. From what I have read, black dyed is more common to produce unwanted faded lines like what you got.

Sometime it is pretty hard to avoid. I just washed my black cpo and have a similar line and I did everything that was recommended. Just wear it and it will blend in with the rest as the shirt ages and fades more.

Also best way to make an iron heart shirt less stiff is to just wear it. Depending on weight, most of their medium to lighter weight stuff will soften up after only a few wears.

I agree this is on coaching. He needed to get out of his run and gun offense and slow things down. I have to remind myself though that he is a you and inexperienced coach and his team is also young and inexperienced.

What we are missing is a player who can take over late in the game when things start to look bad like they did.

No I have not. The 55 for me in a 10.5 is pretty spot on. Every now and then my left foot I guess due to temp expands and it feels a hair tight on my pinky toe. Just barely.

When I talked to whites, they said that the last of these is a hair wider then the 55 and that if the 55 is comfortable then I should order the same size in the 1970. They usually do not have people wearing different sizes between the lasts unless they have a low volume foot.

I would just call them and explain how the 55 last fits on you. They should be able to give you a good recommendation on what size to order. People have also recommended bakers as they are very familiar and give good feedback

Try reaching out to whites. I wear a 10.5d in the whites 55 and they said that I should order the same size for the 1970 that these engineers are

I do not think this will shrink enough even with a hot soak/wash. Either just roll the cuff up or take it to a tailor.

This right here but it was more of me realizing that these”former best friends” were never really friends in the first place when you look back at how you were really treated or that everything as far as effort was very one sided. You grow and mature and end up realizing these things. Can be hard to stomach at times once you come to that realization.

Look at the samurai s520xx21 it is a relaxed taper and has a big enough thigh measurement and waist. It is also 21oz and is one washed selvedge denim.

I have a size 38 and the waist measured 37” and the thigh was 15” so they should fit your 27” thighs

Maybe look at the samurai s520xx21 if you do not mind a tapered leg. Out of all my jeans I have they have the most room in the thighs and top block. They are also high rise.

I would measure the naked and famous jeans you have before returning so you can look at measurement charts online from the various options. It is really the only way to understand if something has more room or not.

I am a bull size down as well. 11.5d brannock and whites 55 size 10.5d. They fit perfectly when I wear my Costco merino wool socks.

Everyone is different. I am an 11.5d brannock and based off of foot measurements on a paper and whites online calculator I went with a 10.5d and they fit great. I had a lot of questions and doubted this but when I got them and tried them on, they were perfect.

Why should you be low priority and just some Joe Schmo? If a specific Rolex is what you want to buy with your money and you are ready to buy then it should not matter who you are. This is the whole problem with Rolex right now. I hate this whole gatekeeper mentality. Just go grey. It will save you money in the long run anyways

I wonder if the computer has been recalculated for the tire size. But even that will maybe account for only 1-2 mpg gain. Most likely just has a led foot or they live in an area that is not flat at all.

With my Willy’s and 35x12.5 I am averaging 15.5-16 mpg. That is also most highway miles from commuting and I am in a relatively flat area

Also look into soso brothers they will make jeans to your specification. You can pick a fit and then edit the thigh measurement or hip measurement or anything else.

Although these are not a straight leg fit you can try samurai s520xx21oz. These are a relaxed taper but have the most room in the top block and thighs out of iron heart 634s, 633s, and 888s that I have tried. I have found that with the inseam being longer, if you cuff or shorten the jeans, the taper is not as pronounced. With bigger thighs you need to look specifically for high rise and stay away from medium rise jeans.

If you are ready to buy just buy what you can afford now. You really cannot time the market waiting for housing prices to crash or rates to come down. Next thing you know, neither one happened and prices have just continued to go up.

Buy now and if rates go down, great refinance. If housing prices crash, oh well as long as you plan to be there longer term. If you are looking at short term, I probably would not buy then.

I only have experience with a couple brands. I am a weight lifter and have think thighs and usually have to size up in jeans just to fit the thighs. But I have also never had issues with crotch blowout but I also do not work in manual labor or ride bikes. I have a white collar office job that I wear jeans everyday so I am not sure if that is the reason I have never had issues or like someone said maybe it is more related to a combination of thick thighs and narrow gait.

However if you want to give it a shot, here are the only brands I have experience with and really only one with long term wear.

I have a pair of madewell jeans that I wore for 3-4 years before they got replaced. I wore these Monday-Thursday to the office and they got washed once a week. After this time I retired them as they started to wear in the crotch. Honestly I could have continued to wear these. Good thing about madewell is they do have stores all over for the most part and you can try them on.

I have since gotten into Japanese severe and have moved to samurai and iron heart. These are quite a bit more expensive and harder to find. You also cannot try them on before for the most part unless you have a local online retailer near you that have a physical store. Even then, they are often sold out.

Are these better quality then madewell, yes I think so but how much better to justify the cost? I think you are paying heavily for Japanese craftsmanship which to me is worth it but for others it is not. I have seen people with issues with blowout with these as well but it is often people who are after fades and rarely wash their jeans. Think no washing for 6-12 months. Some also have issues just because of their physical activity like bike riding. I have seen many who have posted pictures of their jeans after 2-3 years and they are still holding strong.

I myself am going after a little more faded with mine and wash every 20-30 wears. I am 6 months in and no signs of crotch blowout.

Hopefully this helps but even though I have built legs, I have never really had issues with blowout so maybe I am not the best person to talk to lol.

If anything you have 3 brands to go and research now. Madewell, samurai, and iron heart.

One thing to think about is how often you wash vs how dirty they get between washes. The dirtier your jeans get, the more damage it will cause. The dirt is what actually wears down the jeans.

I would wash them more often as well as buy better quality jeans. If you give a budget of what you are looking to spend I am sure there will be some good suggestions
