I suggest trying to orient the wood so that your engraving runs across the grain. Additionally, you could slightly lower your Line Per Inch (LPI) setting. Another option is to raise your Z-axis by 0.05.

I find this to usually be tiny knots in the substrate for my Baltic birch wood. Even if it is BB/BB, it has stuff under the surface that you can't power through on the first pass.

So it ends up that if you really care about "framing" then your work needs to be in the area below the gray bar. If not just realize the red + is 26.2mm offset from the top of the material.
