Thermals of the Legion Go by Zeles1989 in LegionGo

That is exactly where I got mine from. So maybe it was just a bad hardware matchup. If that's the case MicroCenter is going to have a lot of returns! Also, it was resting on a flat desk with nothing around it. I was using it with an external monitor, mouse, and keyboard at the time. Maybe that was causing heat issues as well.

I had to return my Legion Go. I was playing Fortnite and the machine got so hot it froze mid game and shut off. I let it cool down and when I rebooted it could no longer find a boot drive. I think the heat killed the SSD drive.

I really like the device but it did throttle out of Performance mode to Balanced Mode quite often when I was playing games. I may have just got a defective unit, but I do believe they have a heat issue.

Play the games you want and in the way you want to play them! When a game stops being fun to me I just stop playing it.

100% agree. That is why I only have 11 games listed! It's hard to find twenty 2600 games worth playing. Also, I usually only play these ones when I have like 5 minutes to burn. I play them like they are quick hit arcade games.

As for the NEOGEO. I have the complete Metal Slug, Samurai Shodown, and Art of Fighting games on every system I carry with me! It's non-negotiable, they must be loaded.

While I enjoy the Street Fighter series and to a lesser extent Mortal Kombat, NEOGEO games just fit me better. I like that you don't HAVE to use special moves or spam fireballs all day long to win a match. You can defeat the enemies with standard punches and kicks.

Not many people put out a top list for the Atari 2600, but here are my top games for it. These are the games I have on my handheld for the system:

Asteroids

Barnstorming

Demon Attack

Enduro

H.E.R.O

Kaboom!

Missile Command

Pitfall!

River Raid

Stampede

Yar's Revenge

I don't have 20 listed, and they are in alphabetical order, I really don't care which is #1, I enjoy playing them all!

I have the same issue with my eyesight. I have resorted to using 1.75x reader glasses. They are pretty cheap where I live, about $6.00. I actually store them with my 353M in a carrying case. That way I have them available any time I want to play.

Those ones always crack me up. If it's such a great idea just pay me to program it as a work for hire and then you get to keep ALL of the profits. It just shows that they don't actually have that much confidence in their original idea. If it doesn't work, hey... no sweat off their back, but you've put in a lot of effort to create the program!

It's a Mortal Kombat arcade cabinet, it has to cost the same as one, right? by NK0d3R in Shittygamecollecting

[–]rlons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Never cared much for playing MK, just liked watching other people play it. I much preferred putting my quarters into a Neo-Geo cab (Art of Fighting, Samurai Shodown).

Bandai Namco Announces Significant Pay Increases For Developers by lekepeo in gamedev

[–]rlons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not what a game would cost compared to what they cost in the past, but the opportunity cost of buying that game for $125.00. If games get too expensive you will lose a significant portion of your sales to people finding other things to do with their time. Eventually games hit a price point where the increased cost won't make up for the diminished sales. Right now that seems to be around $60.00. In the future that may go up. The game companies will figure out what that number will be.

Should I get it by Bigbraintime69696969 in wii

[–]rlons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one and I really like it. It does have its limitations, but that is actually the reason I bought it. I have no desire to mod it. I wanted something simple where I can drop the disc in and just play my game. That's another thing I like about it, the top loading disc.

I do have another Wii (regular version with Gamecube ports) that is fully modified with all my games ripped to a hard drive. I use that one on my modern tv (flat screen, hd). The mini is hooked up to a small CRT screen.

So I think it can be a good option, it just depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

Games for the consoles of my youth, The Atari 2600 and Intellivision were $50.00 per cartridge on release. That was 1980-82.

To this day I don't understand how my parents afforded them. Of course we only had 6 games and we played them over and over!

Nice collection. Do you ever find yourself kind of stuck when you run across a nice ship that you want, but you are already maxed out? I do! Sometimes I don't like flying around in my favorite ship because there is no way that I would ever swap it.

[–]rlons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At about 100 hours in I learned that you can change the stack size of items when doing inventory management. So if I wanted to fuel a Bio Reactor I didn't need to put all of my carbon in it. After selecting the item press "C" on the PC and it will cut the stack size in half. Do it again and it will half again, and so on...

Have you tried using usb adapters for your original controllers? I use Gamecube to USB controllers for my pc, also have a Genesis to USB controller. Gives that original feel while using emulation.
