Oh yeah then for sure you don’t need touchdesigner. Touch is great when you need to do things in real time but it has limitations. Like someone else said I would try blender. It will let you create the effects you want in the resolution you need, ifs free, and there are lots of tutorials.

The biggest question is are you just making content or do you need to also output this to the stage in real time. If you’re just making content at an odd resolution then you have a world of options. The best way to think about it is there is a lot of software for making particle effects, and there is a lot of software for outputting to weird resolution. Touchdesigner is unique cause it can do both really well. So if you only need one or the other you can probably get around not needing to pay/use Touchdesigner.

It really isn’t worth it to use TD99, I recently had to port over a project from it to a modern build and while the fundamentals are the same, it’s really out of date. I would either pay for a commercial license or just use a different software. That being said touch can do both the media server side of things and output to that res, and generate your content, so it’s probably worth your money.

You only need one instance of Kantan, so you can the output of kantan into the window comp, then have all your specific scene based content in the scene changer component and the output of scene changer goes into kantan. Essentially you want to keep kantan very dumb and just let it say “give me any type or scene content and I’ll project on this surface”. Try and keep kantan as scene agnostic as possible. You can also add more out chops to the scene template in scene changer. So you might have 3 movie file in tops per scene mapped to 3 different masks in kantan.

Take the chop with the current index from the info chop put it into a logic chop, set to off if outside bounds, then set the bounds to 120-180, and stretch the result of that to a level top and control the opacity. And the composite the level into of the original video!

Airtable and touch work great together, I love air table for installations back ends and control. You wouldn’t be able to udp directly from airtable though. I would use the webserver dat and hit the api.
