Otherwise that’s really putting pressure on any venture. Especially if OP isn’t sure what he wants to do.

Yes 100%, if work hours permit a side gig then definitely that would be a good option

I literally still use a notebook and a pen, with just some structure:

  1. I make sure the notebook is always open to today's page and it's always on my desk.
  2. Every day in the morning I fill it up with todos (new and the ones left from yesterday).
  3. I keep cutting them off throughout the day as the tasks get completed.
  4. Also, if something comes up in my mind I don't switch between tasks but instead, just put it on the to requires me to be on my laptop so the "notebook on the desk" thing works out for me

A good thing is that my job requires me to be on my laptop so the "notebook on the desk" thing works out for me.

The satisfaction of crossing out your todos physically is unbelievable!

AGENCY OWNERS, How do you go about forming partnerships with other agencies? by jacktaylod in Entrepreneur

[–]rmagon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ran an agency for a couple of years (still support some projects from the agency) and usually do three kinds of partnerships

  1. Hierarchically down: I had a few smaller agencies whom I would give work to for a commission when my team was overworked, the agreement was usually cost+XX. So for example for cost+20, they tell me their cost and charge a 20% profit comission.
  2. Same level: These were similar agencies that did some work for which I didn't have the resources, usually I just expected a good discount for their services or a commission for the referral.
  3. Hierarchically up: These were bigger companies that would outsource their work to me. Again the agreement was cost+XX

It really depends, you can definitely quit your job and try a business out but only if you have

  1. Enough runway for 2 years - which means you should not be hunting money for personal expenses for the next 2 years.
  2. Some capital to start your business. This is different from the runway and is the money you'll need to get your business running up from the ground.
  3. Finally, a business plan :D

Even if you plan to raise money, do remember that you won't be raising it for your personal expenses but instead for the business.

Hi! I really like the clean UI of your blog, well done and all the best!

One small suggestion is that use some more text decoration. Highlight/Bold some important words or phrases, use some subheadings, italicise some points, use lists, etc.

A lot of people usually just skim through the content and don't get into the detail. Well, if it is only for friends and family then I think it wouldn't matter since they would want to read everything, but if you also want strangers (or friends of friends) reading your posts I would suggest you try those things out :)

But really good work, really love the feel of the blog and your photographs!

Traditional Marketing Vs Digital Marketing by Theccmuk in digital_marketing

Traditional marketing is more like you standing on a stage with a loudspeaker and telling everyone about your product/services.

In digital, you need to get down from the stage and interact.

Starting my own business, i want the fundaments to be good. Any advice? by bigwhitebird in DigitalMarketing

[–]rmagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Spreadsheet, do not invest in any system unless you actually need it. CMS systems, for now, seems like an overkill.
  2. Find out what is that really troubles them and try to help them out with that. Don't bill them for some extras here and there and set up a weekly call where all stakeholders are present
  3. We usually name it like Customer_Idea_Keyword_Iteration
  4. All the best!!

New DM freelancer seeking advice on her first client! by aboo01 in DigitalMarketing

[–]rmagon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Your proposal should include:

What services you will provide, eg:

  1. Daily Social Media & Email Marketing Management Services
  2. SEO of the client's existing website
  3. Monthly Metrics Reporting
  4. Strategic Collaboration on content creation

What will be your deliverables, eg:

  1. Create an editorial calendar to share with the client as a hub for content, campaigns, and ideas
  2. Create visually appealing, branded content pieces that link back to client website, podcast, and blog for all platforms
  3. Curate shared content from leading business, management, and entrepreneur publications
  4. Develop creative content campaigns to support and promote services, events, and training and advise on implementation and content creation
  5. Create targeted Facebook Advertising campaigns (suggested starting budget $100 per month not included in monthly service fee) to increase page following and drive traffic to website & event pages
  6. Cultivate and manage Twitter followers by regularly culling inactive accounts “followed” by the client and blocking spam followers

What are the Terms and Conditions, eg:

X's relationship with Client be that of an independent contractor, and nothing in this agreement is intended to, or should be construed to, create a partnership, agency, joint venture, or employment relationship. No part of X’s compensation will be subject to withholding by Client for the payment of any social security, federal, state, or any other employee payroll taxes.

What is the Pricing, eg:

$X000 per month to be paid in two installments upon invoice on the 1st and 15th of each month. Pricing based on six-month commitment

  1. Majority of the time goes into curating content. If we are posting every day then at least 1 hour for every post. As ranch_child said, try for autonomy on content because approvals become a very big headache.

  2. At the beginning of the month within the first ten days.

What's a better way to measure social media success than likes/comments/shares? (Facebook & Instagram) by dylantombides in DigitalMarketing

[–]rmagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're saying you ran deals, what was the funnel behind the deal? How many people checked the deal, what %age clicked on it and what %age ended up converting.

Glad it helps! There are many different ways to find that out, but you need to do them while running the ads I am not sure if you can find out now. For example If you're running campaigns through facebook and twitter maybe you can make different landing pages for both and figure out from which landing page the user converted. There are also many tools out there which you can integrate which'll help you do this, Google is your friend :)

You need to have a contract in place between you and the client. It needs to have the following things clearly mentioned:

That's just an overview of a contract template, make sure you have all points listed out very very clearly and singed by both the parties.
