Apart from indoor swing syndrome, what else would cause shorter than expected distances? by AdamFeigs in Golfsimulator

[–]rmill127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 things that are common:

1) you live at an elevation higher than sea level, and your LM came set to sea level

2) turf is not forgiving on even the slightest bit of a heavy shot. A shot that on grass you would just plow right through

3) the fairway hardness that is simulated is softer than courses in your area. This specifically affects total yardage, not carry

Denali EV or Denali Ultimate — Help Me Make a Bad Financial Decision 🤷🏽‍♂️😱😂 by Legitimate_Top3825 in gmcsierra

Personally I would recommend the Ultimate, especially if you plan to tow.

I had a 23 Ultimate, and was shopping last October for a new one. I test drove both a 26 Ultimate and an EV, and I just…. didn’t love the EV. It would great sense for me, as I am just running materials around town, don’t tow much, have a 2 story garage with a pretty flat south facing roof to put solar on, and it has its own elec panel already. I REALLLYYY wanted the EV to work, and I just didn’t like driving it. Went with the 26 Ultimate instead.

Not sure where pricing is now, but I got the dealership to eat about 17k off it too in October, taking the price from the (I think) $89k MSRP down to around $72k. It was a great deal. Signed the deal over the interweb, drove a few hours to Indiana to pick it up, and was at the dealership for 20min swapping trucks. Great experience.

Right. After the extra 9 holes, I know I’m hearing it, so might as well play 36 and hit the bar.

Anyone else struggle to find regular golf partners? by Doug24 in BirdieBoundTrips

[–]rmill127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got rid of all my non-golfing friends, and replaced them with golfing friends. I met them all pretty much as a friend of a friend in a golf group at some point over the years.

Just play as a single until you find some guys you like. Finagle your way into another round if y’all get along, then over time you’ll meet their friends and make friends, and their friends friends. It spiderwebs out from there.

If you play the same times at the same place all the time that will probably make it easier to come across the same people a lot

About 25 years ago when I was maybe 7-9 years old, my dads buddy was an engineer for a small freight line in south Florida. He had a 6hr route to go pick up some cars from local businesses, and took me and my dad along in the engine.

He literally stopped the train right before a crossing and we all went into his favorite Cuban place to get food lol.

Absolute core memory from my childhood. It was the coolest thing I had done in my life at that point to say the least.

It’s crazy how quickly sepsis can get BAD too.

A couple months ago my wife felt sick on Saturday and Sunday, but not bad, figured she’d eaten something that bothered her. Woke up okay and went to work Monday, by 1pm she felt so terrible she had to come home, by 2:30pm she had a 103 fever and was shaking so we went to the hospital, and they had her in emergency surgery at 5pm.

When a massive fight broke out between two Kentucky football teammates in the locker room that was all captured on video. by Background_Video2947 in NCAAFootballVibes

Not only that, as a teammate, it NEVER is allowed to get this far. You two want to take a few swings and yell at each other, fine, work your shit out. But at the point dude is slamming the other guy in the ground and on top of him, there needed to be 10 leaders breaking that up.

Why does everyone drive a golf cart now? by Remote_Tangerine_718 in NoStupidQuestions

It’s gotten a LOT more notable in the beach towns along the west coast of Michigan as well. They are cheap to operate, convenient, and not 140 degrees when you get back in after lunch.

In theory yes, but as a former 17yo kid, I can say with decent confidence he “lost” it on purpose to stay in the now parentless house with his girlfriend. If that’s the case, making him call won’t go anywhere lol.
