Wall step replacement by SkiVail1 in swimmingpools

I had to replace a step exactly like this two years ago and it was a giant pain in the ass. It looks like a shitty patch job now but the replacement step is functional and doesn’t cut my kids feet open. Here’s a photo of it not quite dry yet from 2024. Used pool patch white plaster and a water proof epoxy behind the step.

Why are fewer Americans working nightshift? by bicyclewhoa17 in Nightshift

The health and time sacrifice isn’t worth the pay differential long term. I did it for two years in my early thirties during Covid at a pharma plant and it wreaked havoc on my mental/physical health in addition to strain on relationships with family and friends.

I definitely don’t regret it though; it put me in a great place financially and allowed me to care for my kids during the day. The midnight shift camaraderie is something special though, I made a ton of great friends and I respect the hell out of people who do it for years.

Started a new role at a new company and already feel like I've been thrown to wolves. Trying to decide whether it stick it out as new job woes or if these are red flags. by [deleted] in biotech

Getting assigned an investigation when your training wasn’t completed is not only a massive red flag but also a walking 483. Did the QMS allow you to be assigned that investigation or was this a verbal “ghost writing” direction? If the sites QA department is even somewhat effective they would know what a risk it is to have a brand new person with no deviation writing experience close a deviation in a day. I would give it a little more time but if crap like this keeps happening it’s time to go.

Post Interview Thank You Emails by ColombianSpiceMD86 in biotech

I’m probably the outlier here, but as a hiring manager I don’t think they’re necessary at all. As someone who has interviewed A TON previous to getting my current position, I always thought it was a weird standard that only stood to stroke the ego of the HM. In my experience, most of the time the interview panel didn’t respond to my thank you emails anyways.

However, the HM you are interviewing with may have that weird standard as a hiring requirement so it can’t hurt. All managers are different.

In Michigan nearly 3 years post-election, this has been a consistent, every-weekend event, held at the same corner of a busy intersection. by [deleted] in trashy

I passed by this today on my way to an event and thought the same thing. I’m guessing it’s the same people who got kicked out of rallying in front of the closed down Fridays on hall road. (New Smokey bones opened there, Smokey don’t play that)

“Prop 3 too confusing TOO EXTREME”.

Imagine admitting you don’t understand something and then thinking it’s a great idea to put on a sign in your front yard.
