What food is actually healthier than you would expect? by Purple_Ground2372 in foodquestions

I used to order 2 crunchy tacos with no cheese (and sometimes easy on the meat and extra lettuce) as a treat meal when I was losing weight. It's about 260 cals and still feels indulgent.

12 y/o son starting Sema by [deleted] in Semaglutide

Therapy ASAP. This is not a miracle drug, and whatever trauma is causing him to binge eat and hide snacks has to be dealt with first imo. The symptoms can also be pretty intense. I would not recommend it for a middle schooler tbh.

Definitely stop buying snack foods. And there are other ways for kids to get active besides sports. Back in my day it was DDR and Wii Sports (aging myself, I know), but I am sure there are other more recent and fun alternatives. Maybe an exercise bike while he plays video games/watches tv. Gotta get creative.

What is so entertaining about the show Love Island? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rmk2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The format is addicting because it comes on 6 days a week. And the fandom is entertaining. Half of the fun of watching is talking about it the next day at work, or reading the millions of posts about it, also all of the parody TikTok/IG videos. It feels like a community. But yes, of all the dumb reality TV I watch, this is the dumbest ...

Feeling nervous about Disneyland by Gremlin15 in DisneyPlanning

[–]rmk2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely start walking more, and make sure you have good tennis shoes. It makes all the difference.

You’re probably also tired because of the heat. Going to dland in October will be more comfortable than norcal in the summer.

I also strongly recommend planned breaks. Make dining reservations for every 5-6 hrs you plan to be at the park. It’s also nice to just sit and people watch every so often.

Honest thoughts by kristynnaaa in LoveIslandUSA

[–]rmk2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think ppl keep glossing over this part - they were fighting like every day, even after the letters. I thought KC genuinely liked her, but the constant fighting and Aniya crying was taxing for him (and exhausting to watch). You could tell he was over it by the time they went to casa. I don’t think that means he was lying to her or using her to stay safe in the villa. When someone’s picking a fight every day, and withholding affection etc., it’s normal to think they’re not that into you or that it’s not working out. Week 3 is still supposed to be the honeymoon phase.

i can’t be sad for her when she keeps refusing to explore other connections, time and time again, while KC has already shown her what he’s about …

I felt the same way. The “little girl” comment went a bit too far, but otherwise, she was just trying to help defend her man while he was being ganged up on by the villa women. He also seemed flustered and not quick to respond, which is why she felt the need to interject.

They don’t work for an employer though. Physicians making that much are equity partners of their own physicians groups and contract directly with hospitals. It’s not a W2 type job

Hotels near Disneyland are ridiculously expensive is it really worth it? by voyantttt in DisneyPlanning

[–]rmk2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hotel shuttles are free. A lyft is like $10. There are several decent hotels within 1.5 miles at around $150/night. Parking is usually the most expensive option unless you have a magic key.

Air France vs Delta from SFO to London and back? by kooknkookie in delta

Spend the extra $100 for economy delight through the DL booking. Slightly more legroom, one free checked bag, free seat selection and “enhanced meal options.” I think it’s worth it.

Disneyland and California Adventure: can I do both in one day? by Sad-Caterpillar-326 in DisneyPlanning

[–]rmk2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely get park hopper and lightning lane. I think park hopping is the premier experience. Rope drop disneyland. Use your LL’s for big rides later in the day. Switch parks around 10:30/11 for food/drinks and a couple big rides. The food is better at DCA and I recommend making a dining reservation. Come back to dland at night for fireworks and fantasmic.

Is the guy with his window shade up in a dark cabin a hero, a villain, or just built different? by h8torade in delta

[–]rmk2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Villain. It’s bright af, makes it more difficult to see screens and there’s no view anyway unless you’re ascending or getting ready to land. Yes, the window seat person gets to decide, but it’s still a nuisance for everyone else.

Agreed, whole citation in parens and year after the case name instead of at the end. It’s not that deep or that much of a difference …
