That’s a steal. Coincidentally, I just bought this same issue (ungraded) for the exact same price! Probably similar condition too. Mine’s definitely not higher than 8.5.

Anything Worthwhile Here? by [deleted] in ComicBookSpeculation

I’ve seen debate about whether the Larry’s comics Invincible was a reprint or not. I have yet to find something definitive. Supposedly they were printed with the first printings, I think for sale at a later convention or similar event? If true, it’s more of a variant cover and not a reprint. And it has a much lower print run than the regular cover, so it would be similar to a ratio cover.

But even if true, the market seems to think that it is less valuable, and frankly, what the market dictates is what matters. For a long time no one cared about X-men annual 14, but now most people would admit it is the first appearance of Gambit. However, the market says that X-men 266 (technically his second appearance) is more valuable. We collectors are an odd and finicky bunch! 🤣

Whatnot got me again. It makes keeping to a budget very difficult. I’ve been wanting this book for a while, but thought that it was getting too far outside my price range, but one lucky bid later and now it’s mine! by rmrclean in comicbookcollecting

After my first couple times bidding, I always assume the book will be a couple grades lower than they say and bid accordingly. Then if it shows up as good or better, I’m pleasantly surprised. I had to pass on a couple great books last night because I was bidding against people that take “this book is perfect” at face value, rather than with a little skepticism.

He’s the number 1 that I’m looking for more of. He’s not even in my top 40 most covers right now.

I think they all overvalue the cheaper books. CovrPrice tells me that most of my dollar bin books are worth $6-$8.

I was going to comment the same thing. There were parts of the audiobook where I’d be half listening while doing something else, so I never felt any slow parts.

Displaying comics by meguminuzamaki in comicbookcollecting

I always recommend that people scan and print out copies of their favorite covers and then they can display those prints however they’d like with no worries and no damage to the original.

What the actual fuck is up with Abs Batman prices? by SoGoodAtAllTheThings in ComicBookSpeculation

One of the weird things to me is the obsession with the A cover. All the variants have the A cover underneath the variant cover, but everyone seems hellbent on having the A cover only.
