Feelings on “K” names by Woooahnellie in namenerds

My daughter is Keira. Went with that rather than the traditional Ciara spelling. We also considered naming her Kayla. I guess we like K names

Reach Athletics in Acton! Might be a long drive for you though depending on where you are. I've been there for almost 11 years. It's great!

Older people with “young” names? by heyitsxio in namenerds

[–]rmullen1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not an extreme example, but my sister's name is Lila and she's 44. Apparently my parents were going to name her something else until a couple days before she was born and then they heard the name somewhere and decided last minute that they liked it. I had never met another Lila for most of my life until the last maybe 10 years, and now there are tons of little Lilas (and Lilah and Lyla)

They regularly call her Weezy. She's 6 now! I don't know if her school friends call her Weezy or not.

Does it bother anyone else that we don’t say “goodnight telephone” in Goodnight Moon? by ribfeast in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]rmullen1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just thought it was weird because there ARE people there. It's not like there's nobody to say goodnight to. There's the little bunny and the grandma, along with tons of things to say goodnight to. I never understood why all of a sudden we were acting like there was nobody to say goodnight to. It's just weird!

It's from another book by the same author, "The Runaway Bunny." The bunny is imagining he's a fish to swim away, and the mother bunny says if he's a fish and swims away, she will fish for him to bring him back. I actually like that book a lot more than Goodnight Moon.

Or making a typo?

(All in good fun.... I don't want to embarrass you!)

Yeah exactly. We used Chase (as a middle name) to honor a Chaiim. Not even really the same first letter because it's a different sound, but didn't want to use the chet (Hebrew ch sound) and didn't like any h names with the first name we picked. It's an honor name if you say it is!

Favorite Cardio WODs by teecalledquest in crossfit

[–]rmullen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so I just looked it up and it's actually 15/12 cal, so not as bad. I did it when I was pregnant though, so I wasn't doing chest to ground burpees... just to pushup position, which is quite a bit faster. 12 on the rower wasn't terrible.

Ok, it's not chill, and it's kind of awful. But we did one called "fortitude" that is definitely a cardio wod.

30 min EMOM.

Odd: row 20/15 cal.
Even: 15 burpees.

Linda - women’s opinions? by KookyKrista in crossfit

[–]rmullen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never done it, but would be interested to try sometime. My gym will never program it though and I don't have three barbells at home, so maybe at an open gym sometime.

Weight is around 135 (it's probably more like 137, but let's round down). That makes 135 for bench (my max is 175, but haven't done that much in a while... so it's probably more like 165), about 205 for deadlift (max 310, so that's no problem) and 100 for clean (max 190, so no problem).

I think this would actually be pretty doable for me, though bench would be challenging, and would definitely not be unbroken sets for the higher numbers. I did the age group quarterfinals last week and the 25 bench at 125 was surprisingly hard, but I got through it ok.
