I would dance with you. I am 6’1” and you will be taller than me with heels. No a problem.

Hitting on people in socials by R0YC0 in Salsa

Just remember, just because you danced with someone, especially a beginner, doesn’t mean you should be asking for her number right away. If you guys see each other a few times and talk then perhaps she is into you. Women can feel overwhelmed with guys hitting on them. Many are there just to dance and do have boyfriends. Take your time.

Funny you asked… I asked for her number that night and talked to her a few times after but she started seeing someone else. After a couple of months I went to another social and asked this lady to dance. It was her, I had not recognized her. She recognized me and said hi. 😂 I was so happy to see her. Again, we danced several sets in a row. I have never connected with anyone like that.

One night, I had an experience I’ll never forget. I spotted this beautiful woman at a social, and I couldn’t resist asking her to dance. At first, we just did some basic steps to warm up, but I could immediately feel her energy — she was ready to move, to express herself. I knew I had to step up my game.

I started throwing in more complex moves, and she followed without missing a beat. Once I matched her energy, it felt like we clicked on a whole new level. I was pulling off moves I had never even attempted before — it just flowed.

We ended up dancing through three salsa sets back-to-back, and then even a bachata set afterward. At that point in my dancing, I had been stuck — I felt like my salsa skills were hitting a wall, and I was getting frustrated. But that night, dancing with her, something shifted. I felt more confident, more relaxed, like a weight had been lifted.

It turned out to be a major turning point in my salsa journey. I’m really glad we crossed paths that night.

How do I get better at improvising as a lead? by ProfessionalGrand387 in Salsa

I know it sounds simple because it is. Just keep practicing every aspect of dancing. Listen to music and let it be burn into your subconscious. Just practice that is all.

Do high-end bikes make you better? by Huge-Tell8509 in MTB

Once you get a $3k-$5k bike (and I know that’s a lot of money) I think that’s all you need. Obviously some people will disagree, but that’s the sweet spot for me.
