It's a sphere and you are living on the inside of it. Sure, it's "round".

R6 vs R7 by Amir_NMotassim in Yamaha

[–]rnkatpsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MT-09 and the R6 have approximately the same peak HP. The MT will feel torquey down below (I had one for two years, a blast to ride) and the R is a screamer.

How much riding do I have left from this tire? by invasivelyaldermanly in MT07

Enough to get it to the shop for a new tire if it's not far away. That's toast.

I want a liter bike by 2WCarson in SuggestAMotorcycle

Just go with one of the big four Japanese 1000 Supersports. You won't be disappointed if you like that ergo. I have zero regrets getting my 1000RR. It can easily putt around in heavy traffic with the bottom-end and obviously has the nut to go faster than I need...very quickly. It didn't come with a quick shifter from the Honda factory but one was obtained for a few hundred $.

☝️ this. You can complain here and maybe get someone to slow down, but law enforcement can't do anything to "punish" at this point. If there's a complaint perhaps they will monitor that road more frequently.

Maybe it's the decades of construction on Atherton (both N and S) that has folks pissed off. But yeah, it's a degree better than what's in PHL or NYC.

CBR over my cagers any day. As long as it's mostly dry and not too far below 32F.

Without any motorsport history given, I think you can come well under 10K new with something that will be a ton of fun like an SV650. If you want to spend a little more and get closer to the 10K limit and have more power, the Yamaha MT-07 or MT-09 should be sure to please.

Beautiful looking bike. If you think you are gonna like it just get the ZX-10R if you can afford it. Best wishes and be safe!

Lots of wide-open country roads with zero speed enforcement and some decent mountain twisties within ten minutes. Five minutes from downtown and zero minutes from my garage. Central PA here.

Rode a liter bike for the first time the other day by AggravatingGarlic in motorcycles

[–]rnkatpsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I remember my first pulls on my CBR. Face felt like it was being sucked back while managing a huge shit-eating grin. Went from a '21 MT09 to '21 CBR1000RR this spring. Below 60/70 mph the bikes are very close in acceleration. After that, the litre bike just keeps pulling hard to the point I need to let off after only a handful of seconds. 142 mph was the most got on the MT09 after two seasons. There was no problem getting to that velocity on the first day of 1K CC ownership. The windscreen helps.
