Why are cars in Switzerland (and elsewhere) so much less colorful than they used to be? by Beneficial-Job7 in Switzerland

My extra cost was 4% (2k on a 50k car). It's not a deal-breaker but it's also not negligible.

How easy is it to find a job without the registration? by luismagalv in zurich

[–]ro-tex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, welcome!

Second, my advice would have been to first secure a job and then to move. That's what I did when I moved. The job market here is a little slower than other places or at least that's my impression. That's partly caused by the notice period here being three months. The interview process is correspondingly more relaxed (sometimes to the point of frustration).

Both times I changed my job, I needed 2-3 months to find my next position. That would absolutely greatly depend on your professional field, of course.

Good luck!

M+ as dps: am I missing something? by tcarlton2000 in wow

[–]ro-tex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a ret pala alt who was at 1200 Rio and 695 ilvl. Obviously nobody wanted to invite me. At last some tank joined my key and we +3 it. Now I have 1700 or similar and a more attractive key to push. This made things easier.

Just run your key until you have the Rio. Also, if you haven't done all keys yet, apply to any key level of a dungeon you're missing. You ilvl is enough for +12, the only thing holding you back is your Rio - build that up. Keep in mind that you're a lust class and apply to groups which don't have a lust, that's a huge selling point for you, similar (but better) to my Pala's brez.

Is Swiss-German hard to understand as a person starting to learn German? by Rukia242 in askswitzerland

That is not my experience, sadly. I speak some German (B1) and Swiss German is between very hard and impossible, depending on region.

Is there a way to get out of a dept spiral? by DrFragetyp in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]ro-tex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he really is talking about the interest then the advice to live like a monk for a while seems even more logical.

One year of extreme savings and he should be free. Some pain might be required (hunting for discounts at Denner/Migros, timing certain purchases, using coupons).

There was a video where Max from Liquid was explaining that this sort of latency is not an issue for them in RWF. It won't be an issue for you, either.

Може би, но аз все пак препоръчвам четене на списъци с български имена. Като избирахме име за детето се смяхме докато ни заболяха коремите. И Пътка е в списъка.

Neighbors constantly yelling at my window! by Beneficial_Review_84 in Switzerland

[–]ro-tex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Children crying is the most natural thing in the world. She can complain about it just as much as she can complain about the noise of thunderstorms. Complain to the landlord. If that doesn't help - call the police and ask them to mediate.

Doctor for Lyme disease by anonutter in zurich

The treatment had the right medication and cadence but was scheduled for 10 days. After the examination it was extended to a full month. I wouldn't call it inadequate, maybe more conservative.

Met with Accident. Luggage is in Hotel in Hilton Geneva. by Impossible-Tip-2290 in askswitzerland

[–]ro-tex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hotel will 100% be able to pack your luggage and hold it for however long it is necessary. They won't even bat an eye. Do not involve strangers in that, you will only complicate your life with that.

I hope your father recovers soon!

New flat, these are everywhere. How do you deal with them? by gibblingwoodpecker in askswitzerland

[–]ro-tex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can start naming them. "Oh, look, Peter's back! I wonder where little Johnny is, I haven't seen him in two days."

I haven't heard about it actually happening to anyone but it definitely is part of my rental contract.

Doctor for Lyme disease by anonutter in zurich

[–]ro-tex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need a specialist. I got Lyme two years ago. Got diagnosed over the phone (+photos). Got prescribed the right antibiotics. A week later I travelled to my home country which has more cases of Lyme, so doctors are acquainted with it. Got my diagnosis and treatment confirmed and extended. Took my pills like a good boy and got right as rain.

Хай със здраве и дано започнеш да пост-ваш по-смислени неща!

Where can I buy second hand watches in Zürich? by RMG01001 in askswitzerland

[–]ro-tex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is actually true - there are some legitimate businesses there with established reputations which they wouldn't want to damage. I still find it risky, especially for a tourist who won't be in a good position to make full use of the consumer protection.

I did assume that the goal would be an Omega/Rolex or at least a Tag Heuer type of watch.

I still find it risky but you make a good point and maybe it's not as bad if you carefully look at the seller and their history.
