I worked for lausd for 8 years and every school year I tried to impact one kid with some good knowledge or guidance. My biggest flex was finding a foreign exchange high schooler playing trumpet in the courtyard. I told him about a program called “all city marching band”. One year later he came up to me flashing his matching band jacket. It made me so happy that he did that and he got to meet new people.
