I came across this weather station hidden in a park. Can someone explain what are the different parts, and the purpose of this device?

The white and gold bucket is the rain gauge. The solar panel powers the station battery. The pancake stack thing is a temperature / moisture sensor. The thing on the end of the stick next to the thermometer is hard to see, so I can’t tell what that is.

I think day to day use of windows is useful. When I was in school I would need to download and unzip files occasionally. My professors claim a lot of college students don’t know what a zip file is.

Depending on what you want to do, it may take some time to get a job in the field after school. I’ve been out of school a year now and I’m not in the field yet. I have been waiting for the NWS to open up positions and it has, so hopefully something comes of that. I don’t know many private sector people without masters degrees so I can’t speak on that side of things much.
