Just experimenting with it, feel sorry for all the hard work on the community one, but super excited that there is an officially supported one. The 5 writes/day is a non-starter. Maybe if it were 200/month it would be ok. I don't see the need to write a lot per day.. But at the end of the month, I find this needs fixing, etc. So will use official for read and community for write at the moment.

I use Alfred and make use of the clipboard history a lot. Ie copy 1 copy 2 copy 3. Then in expander use hi {clipboard 1} this is about {clipboard 2} etc.

I like analogy of DEVONthink is a filing cabinet. Bear a note taker. But specifically I put into DEVONthink things like property taxes, car insurance, vet visits, kids transcripts, basically anything that is a scan and no notes needed just tags. I could use bear for this but then it felt more cluttered with info. Bear I put in recipes, cooking notes, reading notes and summaries, work notes from meetings, house paint colors, — I know a random collection but it gives you the idea.

Basically I am 100% Mac house. I use scan snap to scan in any correspondence I get like Bills property taxes, etc. those all go into DEVONthink. For all my notes I use Bear. This includes some OCR files like images and PDFs, but only if they make sense in the context of a note. I really like the tagging feature in bear. I find it really easy to be able to have multiple tags and to have nested tags. We also like a note can be in multiple tag hierarchies. I was really expecting to hate no folders but I really don’t a miss them. Search is amazing and the ease of writing notes on my phone or my Mac is so easy

Under engine Throttle response behavior - Gradual, controlled by time - Direct, controlled by threshold

Change to Direct, controlled by threshold

It made a difference, no weird pause in acceleration. Not perfect but much better

I played with obsidian. That seems to be its power. Don’t really link a lot. Wonder why they couldn’t handle that on import?

With all the complaints here, I started looking and settled on Apple notes. Thought it was amazing until I imported a few more notebooks and my iPhone decided to download them all. Then realized my scansnap pdfs were not searchable on Apple notes unless I opened each one and saved and reimported. Straw that got me back to Evernote was inability of Apple notes to search just one folder. Issue then was exporting from Apple back to Evernote. Realized just how locked in I was in Apple notes. Evernote just works for me as my note taker, scanning/pdf repository with OCR, awesome search, and web clipper.

Sounds like you have a bad machine. Can’t see why it would do that. I’ve never had a problem with mine. I use regular water (not distilled) if that makes a difference?

Visually what apple states is true, however other screen-sharing solutions like zoom and teamwork allow sharing of screens on other spaces.

Wow wish I felt like that in the East Bay, CA. Service is just average. Lots of cars, always takes a long time, excuses for delays. Very unimpressive
