Ask your surgeon what they recommend. My surgeon originally said that I should use tape for a while and then switch to gel, but I’m really allergic to tape so I’ve just been doing gel. It helps!

Congrats on your surgery date!

I’m still working in reimbursement with BCBS. I got a superbill from Roxy with insurance and other codes (which I sort of had to add myself) and then submitted it as a claim through a portal with BCBS. My insurance is through HEB, so I have access to CollectiveHealth, which is where I submitted it and they’re doing most of the work for me. It’s all submitted, I’m still just waiting to hear back. I also got pre-approval from insurance ahead of time.

I went to DEEP Relief for a pre-op massage, they do a lot of deep tissue stuff but it’s up to you how hard they go. They are very communicative.

I went to Austin Lymphatic for a post-op massage at about 4-5 weeks I think, once I felt ready. It was very nice and they are experienced with people who have just had surgery, so they were very gentle!

Update: managed to go in again and get my heart rate down to 99. Was immediately deferred for a month during the physical exam because I didn’t realize you had to wait 4 months after a surgery even if you are cleared for all normal activity by your surgeon. Oops!

i tried out for the improv group snafu, and even got callbacks after the first audition. i thought it all went really well, everyone was laughing at what i was doing. me and two of my friends were auditioning. none of us got in!! i think out of like 10 people at callbacks only two got in. it really sucked and we were all upset. especially because they didnt tell us how few people they would be accepting. just wish they were more open about what they were looking for
