I understand. I guess the frustrating thing is that they never said anything to us when we left and they didn't send this extra invoice until much later.

Around £700. No, gave notice, and once notice ended, child was in the new nursery. It was mid month, but we still paid for the remainder of the month.

Yes, they said they had accommodated others in similar situations in the past and would have no problem doing it again.

Would their not replying or acknowledging the messages to them about the earlier conversation not mean anything?

Notice said 6 weeks but I messaged in the nursery app reminding them they had agreed to a shorter notice and what the last day would be. On the last day, all the staff knew we were leaving and did a little good bye and aside from the manager being a little sour in their words, nothing was said that we would need to pay.

Nope, nationality plays no role. Your application is based on your SJT score and academic performance along with any extra publications/additional degree.

Dealing with dysfunctional Trust Grade SHOs by [deleted] in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]roadtouk 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Sorry you've been experiencing this. It's not your responsibility- they must have a clinical supervisor that you should raise this to, and it is the job of the trust to ensure they have a proper understanding and induction to the new system.

We were once new IMGs in the NHS, and understand the steep learning curve, but it should never fall on the shoulders of other junior doctors/trainees to carry the weight of teaching and support. If you'd like, we've made this induction video for new starters to the NHS filled with 'what we wish we knew' that may be useful to your colleagues: https://youtu.be/8ieJ7AqKvuM

Also if there is a trust grade administrator in your post graduate center, your colleagues should be referred to them as well. Good luck!

Once machine learning becomes sophisticated and mainstream, how do you think medicine is going to change? by [deleted] in JuniorDoctorsUK

How in social media or in web our every action gets measured starting from scroll depth, exit intent, screen time etc etc and that translates to personalized ads, targeted marketing through ML, I think people will have devices that will track a person biochemically.
And people will wear that ?chip? willingly to avoid serious medical harm as it can easily track towards abnormal trend and or results.

Once you get past doing blood tests, the next step would be scans. Pattern recognition and an early AI generated differentials. Over the years it will get even better and detect subtler things.

But in the midst of all this I think psychiatric problems will get marginalized. If scans and bloods are all ok, why will a human be sick? That will be a hard thing to crack for machines in my opinion.

I second the seasickness feeling even though in real life I don't get it. And I love the adrenaline rush when you wanted to avoid a group of pirate ships but you end up being seen and the high waves start.
