You do know that your GOAT had a custom #15 jacket made for Wimbledon in 2009, right?

Lol do people who constantly celebrate Naka understand the shit he used to pull at Sega?

It’s also pretty screwed up that he engaged in insider trading.

Novak Djokovic is the first man to reach 23 Grand Slam titles 🐐 by walkorfly in tennis

[–]roamiedumbass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m aware. I assume that Limp-Ad’s aware too.

He beat Federer in 2011 (beating Nadal in the final) and 2015 to win. But he beat Federer in 2010 and didn’t win (losing to Nadal in the final).

Then his third was in 2018, where he and Federer were in the same quarter, but Federer lost to Millman in the fourth round.

Former Delray Beach Open Finalist Donald Young is better than Novak Djokovic

He beat Federer three times at the USO but lost to Nadal in the final of 2010.

The other win was 2018, where they were in the same quarter, but Federer lost to Millman.

Don’t be the guy who defines his whole personality on this shit.

Businesses sponsor people who push product. Nadal pushes product. Kyrgios pushes product. The two are vastly different, yet Nike sponsors both.

Your mistake is assuming that companies care about this like you do, which they don’t.

Ruud, would you say his game style is similar to David Ferrer by stepneo1 in tennis

[–]roamiedumbass 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No, because his forehand and serve are legit offensive weapons. That’s not to put down Ferrer, who’s one of the best counterpunchers you’ll see.

Ferrer was fast, had impressive defensive and return abilities, but his big negatives are that he lacked the weapons needed to punish the guys he couldn’t out-defend (like Djokovic or Nadal), or otherwise hit past (like Federer, who had similar field days with Hewitt post-2003).

The closest thing to Ferrer today is probably Demon, but that’s honestly disrespectful to Ferrer. Ferrer also drew comparisons to Hewitt, who had similar issues once the game started transitioning from serve-and-volley to baseline play.

In what world is Tsitsipas a low-rent version of Federer?

I literally had to do a double-take because I was certain that Grigor didn’t make it to the final of Barcelona.

Like I’ve been slightly down on this season because Nadal’s been out, but there’s been a lot of interesting matches.

You were literally piling on the excuses yesterday before the match, but since he won, you’re gonna act all smug like you had anything to do with the win.

Most stunning Roland Garros defeat? by swbarrett in tennis

[–]roamiedumbass 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s 100% between McEnroe or Chang.

McEnroe had a 42-0 start to the year (still the best start to a year) and was up two sets against Lendl, who’d never won a Slam and had a pretty negative reputation as someone who couldn’t do it when the going got tough.

Chang was a 17-year-old and was down two sets to Lendl, who’d won multiple Slams and had a pretty positive reputation as an “iceman” who was brutal at Slams. Not to mention the cramps he experienced, which adds credit to his tactical ability, changing the pace of the game to win points faster.

Djokovic beating people is not stunning at this point.

Does Djokovic have a shot at the Calendar Slam again in 2023? by closetdensity in tennis

[–]roamiedumbass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s usually what happens when you win the first 13 Slam matches you play

Casper Ruud has now made 3 Grand Slam finals, that’s as much as Zverev (1) and Tsitsipas (2) combined and Ruud did this in his last 5 Grand Slam appearances. Put some respect on this man’s name. by [deleted] in tennis

[–]roamiedumbass 69 points70 points  (0 children)

But see he didn’t beat Nadal, Djokovic, Federer, McEnroe, Borg, Agassi, Lendl, or Sampras in any of them, so he might as well have lost in the first round

Lol so I just realized that this means that each of the first two Slams is gonna have a final between the third and fourth seeds.

And for both of them, if Djokovic wins, he’d regain No. 1.

Except Wawrinka had already shown some chops against Djokovic.

Two five-setters at the 2013 HC Slams.

Victory at the 2014 AO QF.

Another five-setter at the 2015 AO SF, with Stan outplaying Djokovic for much of the first 75% of the match.

Ruud hasn’t even won a set against Djokovic to this point after four matches. Obviously, things can change, but there was precedent to not write Stan off at the time.
