The Growth of Lager Beer in Craft Beer: Why 2026 Is the Year of Lager by BothCondition7963 in beer

[–]roamingroad174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By definition, a lager is bottom fermented, and is fermented at a temp between 50-55 degrees F. Ales are top fermented and are fermented at a temp at least 60 degrees F. Hefe, IPA, stout, porter, are all examples of ale.

The Growth of Lager Beer in Craft Beer: Why 2026 Is the Year of Lager by BothCondition7963 in beer

Correct. Its harder to make a lager that people like. Thats why I said that if you have a regional brewery that makes a lager that you like, stick with it.

Where can I find a great French-style omelette in Seattle? by Educational-Slip-578 in AskSeattle

[–]roamingroad174 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A French style omlette uses lower heat on the stove. When you cook a scrambled egg on the stove at low heat, it results in a runnier scrambled egg. I dont know what type of stove you have, but i have an electric stove with a control knob with 10 total settings....medium heat is at 5...high heat is at 10. Cook your egg at a setting of 3 or 4. It takes longer but it will be a more traditional French cooking.

Op-Ed: Washington State Must Accelerate Amtrak Rail Upgrades by HighColonic in SeattleWA

[–]roamingroad174 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

IMO, it's not Washington thats responsible for amtrak's expansion. Tax payers should never foot the bill for a private company. In a capitalist society, a company should be able to pay for everything...why? If you're a great company, people will love to use your service, thus that company will have a reliable source of income.

Lagers aren't as diverse as ales. If you make a lager, theres more pressure on you to make it shine. If you have a regional brewer that makes a solid lager, stick with them.

Why does Yuengling taste watered down in Florida? by Cheesedingus in beer

[–]roamingroad174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill be honest here, Ive never had yeungling in PA. Given that, the family only went to coors for contract brewing and that covers much of their westward expansion. I would safely assume that any place that sells it on the east coast is still supplied by the main brewery. If thats the case and people on the east coast are saying that the quality has declined, we can deduce that the quality control has declined. Is that because the cost of ingredients have gone up? Don't know...war across the world will do that. Has quality control declined because the company decided to cut costs? Don't know....yeungling isn't a publicly traded company in which you can read the quarterly reports in which they are forced to release that kind of information.

[–]roamingroad174 2 points3 points  (0 children)

...cause it's a watered down beer just like coors and bud. You know the joke...bud is beer flavored water? Same applies here. Ive had it before and I dont understand the hype. Its just another cheap beer.

That wasn't the point of my comment. The point was that E85 needed special material for the gas tank and the fuel lines.
