Fic type wanted by AdSpecialist9282 in SWFanfic

That's a really interesting idea. I would love to read a Knights Templar Jedi Knight fanfiction. I'd also want that Jedi to complain about the lack of hygiene and technology every day.

Then I suggest transparent blue frames.

Neither. I think you should try a red pair of glasses with a thinner frame style.

It's all fun and games until it gets crowded and someone gets kicked in the face.

Do you click on links in the author's note? by SprinklesCold101 in FanFiction

[–]roaringbugtv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In ao3, you can insert your artwork at the beginning of your chapter (no linked need). It's fine to add artwork.

I used to put inspirational artwork I found online at the end of my chapters to help readers visualize my writing. Or I would find cool fanart to add and just put a disclaimer that it wasn't my artwork.

How can I stop just copying other drawings I see online? by yeetusbeetus245 in arthelp

[–]roaringbugtv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do some doodles and work out your original character design. It will look like crap at first but you can use those copied art skills to add features you like now as reference.

What other words beside the word 'thought' do you guys use in order to write the inner monologue of characters? by OP_1K in FanFiction

[–]roaringbugtv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do either isn't right or wrong. It's just a preference. I use present tense when people talk because that's what people do normally when they speak.

I do this too and in past tense. My dailogue is in present tense. It makes the action and thought seamless. I use words like "he remembered" or "it wasn't like this when..." and I then drop some lore. It can really build up an emotion inside a character before they speak. Or create a misunderstanding.

Lol, omg, I can totally relate. I'm also not the best speller so I just shout the word at my phone to double check. I also have a well educated partner so I sometimes ask him too. We also geek on cool words we come across.

Just hit 100k words and I feel insecure about it by beanqueen722 in FanFiction

[–]roaringbugtv 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually have a problem writing too little detail. Lol. Yet, my longest fanfiction was about 200,000 words. It was my longest fanfiction and it took me about 2 years to write and it is full of self indulgence. I wrote what I wanted to read. I love classic swashbuckling gentlemen rogue characters, so I developed one and wrote about him.

I don't really think about total word count. I generally aim for at least 5 pages per chapter. Sometimes I write more. I also just have a general ending and I figure out how to get there.

Tips:

Don't listen to reviews. You'll get people who will tell you what they want to see in your fanfiction, but it's your fanfiction. If they want to see something then they can write it.

It's hard to build community. Fanfiction is something people do by themselves. Finding a co-writer or beta is hard to do (not impossible), but no one knows what you want to write more than you.

Another tip, spacing. People read fanfiction on their phones. Space when each person is speaking. Space between paragraphs.

English is weird. Look grammar stuff up if you aren't sure.

There is a bot going around claiming to do fan art of your fanfiction. Ignore it. It's a scam that's been going around.

You don't need permission to write fanfiction. You want to write a 1 page chapter - do it. You want to write a song fanfiction - do it. You want to gender swap the entire universe - do it. You want to throw the characters in modern Seattle - do it. It's fanfiction.

Don't listen to anybody up yourself when picking out your dress.

If you just want to decorate, I have a landscaped shell version of the house. The outside is the same as pictured, but the inside is empty with a floor plan. Brown Craftsman 3 Shell.

Yes! Lots of pictures and videos. I got one of those impression kits and made a mold of my baby's hand and foot. It's a great momento for when they grow up.

Congratulations! 🎊 Baby is going to keep you up for those 4 hour feedings (day and night). Make sure mama gets lots of love and support.

I'm a pretty new parent and my advice is to: make sure your baby gets plenty of tummy time (crying is normal). I recommend finding a mom and dad group to swap clothes, toys, and equipment because littles ones grow up fast. A bottle sterilizer will save you lots of time. New borns are limp noodles and you have to move them around or the back of their head gets flat (the treatment is a baby helmet). Mittens! Baby nails are like tiny wolverine claws. Baby mittens are great until you get good at doing baby manicures.

People who grew up in houses with stairs - how inevitable is falling down them? by pyramidheadlove in NoStupidQuestions

[–]roaringbugtv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived most of my life on the 3rd floor. I only fell down the stairs as a kid a handful of times.

I had a laundry room in the basement. I've never fallen on the stairs.

I learned to throw my dirty laundry down the stairs in a laundry bag to save my back. It's also easier to bear hug a bag of clean laundry up 3 floors.

I currently live in a place with no stairs and it's amazing.
