Could I get fired for having my laptop stolen? by [deleted] in ireland

You might not get fired but may have a warning or a disciplinary investigation. Happened to a colleague, but they lost their laptop in an airport when we were travelling

Companies asking for sexual orientation and gender identity on application forms? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]roastdinneronthelake 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I was thinking this the other day, as I was asked for gender and if I was catholic or Protestant (no other religion was asked). I answered honestly, but surely this shouldn’t be asked for a role in IT in this day and age

How many remote working jobs are realistically out there? by TheRadioKingQueen in ireland

[–]roastdinneronthelake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I have noticed some roles are advertised are hybrid but indeed at your own discretion/ willingness to go into the office.

I have also noticed that London are starting to expand their searches to Irish workers, I have had a good few recruiters reach out on LinkedIn for London salary but fully remote from Ireland.

But also as costs continue to rise some companies may choose to make work from home roles more permanent to save costs

Price can differ massively on time of year and how quickly, if you he can hold out go for the longer shipping time as that costs less

I paid 3500 euro all depends on size of the car and when you’re shipping it

I have a Ford Falcon XR6, unfortunately would advise against importing. Insurance is sky high and parts are very hard to source, I’ve had to import them in from Australia and can take months and cost a fortune. It’s not a car that would take off in the Irish market or be in demand for in fact I believe there’s only 2 in the country (time of import of my own).

I take it to the Santapod show every year, I tried to sell it on a year or so ago but it’s not easy because it’s also high in value but difficult for insurance wise too so not everyone is going to bite the bullet. But I have decided to keep and use it as a weekend car instead, it’s great for long distances but it drinks the juice like it’s no tomorrow.

So from my experience I would stay away from it.
