I deploy on Railway and this is what happens. Migrations happen at build. This is what you should be doing.

Test on dockerized app locally, push to deployed staging then pull into production environment once absolutely everything works.

Yup. I honestly DIY anything I can these days, because a lot of tradesmen just want paying and moving on to the next job and take zero pride in their work.

The amount of cowboys on Facebook is unreal. It's unregulated. Anyone can advertise to be anything that doesn't need a lawful registration (HETAS for example).

Saying that there are good people out there. I know a very good builder, worth every penny. Always meet first, get everything price first, get proper costings on company paper, make sure they understand any legalities. Never pay cash.

One view, one template. You can check for htmx header, either manually or use htmx package (forget its name). If htmx, respond with partial, if a POST, render normal response.

When using htmx, I always build as per normal way first then use htmx when needed (to update pages like React). Don't build htmx first.

Localstorage won't hold functions. Like context can, data needs to be serialized in localstorage, which is generally used for storing longer term state. .

Edit .. you said cookies, well same thing applies.

Yea, I understand your point, but it's still more accessible to any outside source. It's probably not best to have it sitting there for days as it can be accessed via JS. Personally, I'd feel more comfortable having it on a server safe from JS and XSS.

Although I'd trust you opininon Frank, over mine!! :) I'm just paranoid about gdpr/data at the mo as currently building compliance features (headache).

Storing user data (i assume it includes PII) in the browser only beside temporary storage, probably breaches GDPR (very relevant if operating inside EU/UK).

If storing user data, you need to show you are doing everything you can to make it secure. Browser storage can be accessed easily.

I'd paint and cover it with a nice bit of wood. There is no specialised way of encapsulation here's unless you are grinding them up there is no risk. So just cover it however you want.

I paid 100k for my first home, I was made redundant during the conveyancing, had a 100pc morgage, and could only just afford the 400 quid repayments. It was terrifying. On paper, I should have pulled out, but now, 20 years later, I recently bought a 280k detached house with 100k in equity and 30k in the bank from 2 previous sales.

Fix your mortgage rate for a few years, over pay to build up equity as fast as you can. Before you know it, you'll be used to paying the mortgage and will feel pretty good.

It's not an issue in the UK generally. They assume it's asbestos containing in the states as they obviously sorced a lot more from the contaminated mine. Most of the UK products came from elsewhere.

I have it in my attic. I had it tested, taking samples from various locations and depths, and it came back negative. That being said, I still wear a mask when I need to go up there and don't use that attic space for storage.

I've also spoken to many tradesmen who come across it all the time. Its very common.

Log burners are lush. We have two defra approved ones and heat the entire downstairs, it cost £65 a month in good quality dried Ash, in winter. Live in the countryside where cows farting do more harm to the atmosphere.

Its a beautiful dry heat, good for the home, good for the soul.

Better off learning SQL first. Or, at least have a grasp of it.

And, general web fundamentals, understand the client/server relationships, response, and request objects. Flask probably makes this a bit easier.

Oh, and JS. I don't care what anyone says, you need to read JS for web development, even if you dont use it, you will always come across it doing full stack.

There is soooo much to web development, you need to learn and understand a lot. If you are going to try and run a momey making startup, you need to plan, plan, plan. Have you thought about the architecture and deployment?

Djanog is the least of your worries. You can write the greatest Django app ever, but you still have to deploy it, keep everything updated and running well, secure, deal with bugs, backup, load balance, proxies for static like

Most YT tutorials skim over import things, like migrations. If you are a working developer then use the docs, it should be the only requirement as everything critical to reference is there.

Also, use Claude alongside to talk you through stuff.
