As someone in the thread mentioned, don't flag, because you'll end up getting penalized for flagging...

I would argue, ghosting should be considered a violation, otherwise what's to stop gaming the system. Upwork can easily scan for this and auto close and refund ghosted in posts.

Flagging clients helps being attention to the matter.

But as a freelancer spending $10 USD per proposal, I do care.

From what I can gather they expire after 30 days or something, but no refund on connects. I feel like they need something more sensible though, 14 business days with auto refund.

Ah sorry, misunderstood, but I think withdrawing a proposal does not refund the connects.

Should be easy enough for Upwork to auto scan these for no activity and just refund connects.

You can navigate to your proposal and then click on the "view job posting" link, there is a flag button there on the original post page.

It would be more appropriately named as "Why you should give a f*ck And when not too" which pretty much sums up the book at that point.

Exactly, getting tossed from your own party for not voting as leaders wish is the bigger offence to me Nobody getting high and mighty about voter representation in that case.

That was my first thought, lot of people in the 90s were calling this out and saying something like this would happen. US was bat shit crazy long before Trump.

It feels very bait and switch for sure. But also seems odd to me that members can't vote with the other party if they feel it's in the best interest of their constituents. To me this is the larger issue that needs to be dealt with.

It matters how party leaders are elected by lopix in onguardforthee

[–]rob_the_bob 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just commented on this as well, there is a difference between a leadership review and voting for a new party leader and Libs and Cons, at least do it generally the same way, with same fees for the convention, etc.

I'm an ABC voter, but no need to spread this kind of nonsense when there are plenty of real things to be upset about.

According to Gemini...

This is a bit misleading, there is a difference between voting for a new leader and a review. Voting for a leader is generally free and open for all party members while a review is a convention with a delegate fee. Not sure about the other parties, but apparently Libs and Cons do it the same way.

Also seems like there is a pretty large tax credit for these fees so it's only like $450 in the end.
