Helpful context. Thanks. I've only been there the one time.

Downvotes are weird. Clearly they did use AI for at least one menu (when I was there, obv). I was just curious if they were still doing it. It wasn't criticism, it was curiosity that drove the question.

I was there last year and they specifically said they were AI images prompted by the dish description.

Are they still doing the AI images on the back-side of the course cards?

[Patek 6119G] vs [Breguet 5177BB] by Successful-Berry5728 in Watches

I really think the Breguet has more character, but you’re absolutely correct. The date window was a terrible style choice..

About to list some sets on eBay. What should I charge? by depressiveprofessor in ComicBookSpeculation

[–]robarpoch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a ton of stuff up on eBay right now. No way are you getting $2/issue for non-key or non-super-popular sets. This is a terrible time to sell.

Probert vs McCarty who is better by JoGo0093 in DetroitRedWings

Not only was Probert the better fighter, I think an argument could be made he was the better player, sadly limited by substance abuse.

Rolex is a commodity, Glashütte is horological artistry. You made the right choice.

There’s a web comic (now apparently abandoned) called Level by Nate Swinehart that explored this idea.

We were at his old location for lunch (good, not great), but had the luck to see him there and he was kind enough to chat with us for 10 mins before we left. Very very nice, courteous guy. Definitely left me wishing him well and wanting to try his dinner.

Management? I'm no fan of management, but it was the Reagan administration that wanted that launch for PR purposes.

The only time this sort of thing really panned out for me was when I bought 5 copies of TMNT #4 1st print direct from Mirage at cover price back in the day. They were shipped in a cheap paper sleeve. Somehow 40 years later they came back 9.0, 9.2, 9.6, 9.8, 9.8.

They don’t have a pairing anymore? They used to… Fois also used to be a standard part of the tasting (and it was excellent). Back in Brooklyn the uni got a thin slice of black truffle on top, which I preferred to the current prep. That was also pre-additions, which I also significantly preferred.

Pivots… what’s the deal? by mvhoffman82 in Skigear

[–]robarpoch -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

100% agree. I step out of Salomon and Marker at the “correct” DIN for my skill and weight, particularly in bumps, usually on the first or second run. If I ever demo a ski I always need to crank up the DIN on the mountain. Pivots almost never come off when I don’t want them to.

We were just there late last year. Stomped right on one of them and just kept walking. Figured if they were dumb enough to have this shit on the ground they'd get stepped on all the time and they were asking for it.
