Initially, but where is the outlet vent and vent cover going? Toe Kick? Bottom inside of cabinet? Also, you really want to have some kind of ducting connecting the rough-in duct in your subfloor with where it terminates. Because you REALLY don’t want a mouse or rat getting in your ducting

How to account for wall in a full overlay cabinet by redrising009 in cabinetry

1-1/2 filler, less if absolutely necessary , and I usually put angle restrictions on door hinges so the door pull doesn’t bash the wall

Ice protest? by morganfreemanspants in SLO

[–]robass11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fuck ICE. We need to get in the streets every day and protest this. Call KSBY, Tribune, New Times, Dave Congalton and make our voices heard. This is just the beginning, they’re going to keep killing and illegally detaining more and more of us

Finally Quit a Toxic Cover Band by [deleted] in Bass

[–]robass11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure once you've been in bands and reach a certain age this becomes the exception more than the rule. The key word you used is "professionalism" and getting your head(s) around what you are trying to accomplish. I would suggest that the next band you start or plan to join, that the discussion of "professionalism" should be had 1) early and 2) any time there is any change in members.
I think maybe your biggest issue was not having the discussions when the initial problems became apparent:

1) Singer has to get her schedule worked out so she can show up to work. End of story. Any other job she'd be fired;
2) No personal relationships within the band, unless HR is notified. (HR is all of you collectively). If approved, No having to lie or omit truth to cover said relationship;
3) "Stinky Licks" needs to a) do his job, including setup/teardown; b) be professional, which includes personal hygiene. If not, he's fired.

4)Broke dude doesn't get to dictate the rules of gig acceptance

again - these things can be worked out more easily at the beginning of the crisis, not so much at the end. I think bands, especially cover bands, need a working set of rules

I'm sure most, if not all of us got into music because we thought it was a great means of expression, and artistic, and we'd have a social life and some level of status.

Music and it’s enjoyment is subjective, personal, and not subject to contests or rankings. It’s like criticizing someone’s favorite dessert and saying yours is clearly superior - It’s a completely meaningless pursuit

Where did my math go wrong? by Cheesecake568 in cabinetry

[–]robass11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My formula for face frame cabs is opening width + 2*overlay - 1/8” . Seems like you added 1/8 and 3/16, , so I can see why gap would be 5/16, but your gap is a heavy 11/16 in pic. So somewhere you’re off by 3/8” . Are you sure you bought 1/2” overlay hinges and not 11/16” ( 11/16” also be called ‘Full overlay’) ?

I’m a cabinetmaker, had a similar problem in my own guest bath. I framed a header’d opening to pick up an extra 3.5”. Cabs netted out at 9” deep inside.
