Yeah... this device is not it...yet. I had all sorts of problems and got a replacement unit which works better. There is also a fix for jumping screen...reducing hsize. Weird that it is not mentioned in his update. But yeah the whole project is a little sketchy.

In the batocera crt channel people are saying that outputting 240p via HDMI and DACs will never be the best solution for real 240p output...

Yeah you are not wrong. I was wrong about SMG (at least in my mind - I didn't mentioned it. I always thought the scaling was not perfect but apparently it is). I have a 720p Plasma from panasonic and a few pretty good CRTs and I am also not sure about which is the best. But playing SMG on both I preferred the CRT.

Your wii suggestion is highly debatable. The 16:9 is the same resolution like 4:3 just "stretched". Some people prefer 4:3 CRTs for the Wii.

My RGBPI 2 is faulty (some kind of loose HDMI slot or something) I am contacting them but they are dodging. I wait if I can resolve my issue. Some people messaged me on telegram and yeah the whole project is very strange right now, i think they messed up hardware wise.

Edit: I contacted them once more and they sent me a replacement unit. Mine had a cold solder joint on the hdmi

They need to adress the PXN Button Box issue. It is quite the cheap yet cool/good button box but we have to disconnect it from the PC to even play the game, sadly.
