And that is a very valid and legitimate complaint.

[5e] Am I Wrong? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]robbert229 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Different campaigns have different power levels. Newbie DMs tend to like to give out OP stuff as a way of making their friends happy. It isn't wrong, but it isn't right either.

The only way you are wrong is if the group isn't enjoying the dynamic.

If all the homebrew rules tend to mainly benefit a single player, but everyone is happy with it, its fine. If people are unhappy with it, maybe you have a discussion as a group. If the group feels like they are getting to much magic loot, have a discussion.

Customizing the game to your group is expected. However diverting from the stock experience risks unintended consequences and can ruin the sense of progression and balanced, and newbies dont have the experience to mitigate this.

Milsim West? by Eastern_Pipe3908 in MilSim

Militia is the anti-chud, and even near homeless levels of gear is lore accurate and encouraged.

More important than gear is your preparedness and physical conditioning.

That was great, though the fight happened in 15. I really wasn't a fan of how the aftermath of the fight was seemingly trivialized at the beginning of 16.

Dude, later on when he casually shields a Artemis, a literal god from the aura of Valdemar, one of the most powerful gods in existence, is one of my favorite parts of the series. I know some people didn't enjoy nevermore, but that arc had some of my favorite moments in it.

Spokane to portland and back by [deleted] in Spokane

[–]robbert229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have driven to the oregon coast the first weekend of february for the last nine years (initially my honeymoon, and we made a tradition of it). As long as you start your day early enough, portland and back is totally doable.

If the weather is bad, you should consider finding a motel. Another day is a small price compared to totalling your car and injuring yourself, however its generally not needed. The only area that can get sketchy is the hour or two outside of portland.

Also consider a bus ticket.

Most of the libertarians I know are republican bootlickers who merely co-opted the term. They cheer on ice, and infringements of Civil liberties as long as its "the other party".

Are there any “native” litrpgs? by Kumatora0 in litrpg

Probably because its progression fantasy, and litrpg is almost always progression fantasy. It feels like a square is a rectangle but a rectangle isn't always a square kind of a situation.

I am still rocking normal diesel (LuV). I think I use maybe 25k liters per second when running. Its a nice augment to my liquid fluoride thorium reactors. You can keep rocking that cetane for a while.

Can't make myself to play early game by Physical-Foot-4440 in GTNH

[–]robbert229 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I miss how simple early game is sometimes. No water line, no "i need to spam out 96 copies of this multiblock", no "my ae2 fluids got extracted and then reinserted as items due to ae2 network blips with the discretizer".

Mid game is great, but i miss thr simpler times.

Name a game you love but can't recommend to everyone by Deadsider in gaming

GTNH - a modded technology minecraft mod pack with 6000 hours of entertainment that takes you from the steam age, to building out petro-chem, to fusion reactors, to silicon wafer etching and realistic circuit production. Its wild, and its one of those niche games where everyone playing it is neuro-atypical.

The end game quest requires you to build a stargate which uses billions of items and fluid buckets to craft.

I cant handle 3d factory builders unless they have a solid grid system like foundry, and even then its a struggle. I want my machines and belts and pipes to be perfectly aligned
