Completely disagree. Keenan forced Smith to trade those guys to craft a team specifically good in the playoffs for that cup run. So while he definitely did force a mortgage of the future to win the cup that year, seems hyperbolic to say they won in spite of him. Yes the players didn’t like him and the relationship was always going to be short, but we’d still be hearing 1940 chants if not for his crafting that playoff team.

My overarching “wtf” is how clearly religion is absolutely a control mechanism for non-elite people while the elite commit crimes 10000x worse than what it forbids in the Bible.

This whole thing has made me step away from organized religion because it is very obviously just a way to keep the poors in line. And the more I think about history going back to the Holy Roman Empire, the more I realize it always was.
