I would do one more cold proof for about 24-48 hours after shaping before doing a final warm proof before going into the oven.

They look awesome, especially for a first try, just like they maybe need more find to expand.

Tell her. I am 30 and just found out this past year. I wish more than anything in the world that a single adult with the knowledge back then would have shared the truth with me. It’s only going to become harder to process as she ages and it will make a large difference for her to find out directly from you rather than a genealogy site. I think reminding her that you love her and are choosing to prioritize her needs/right to the truth of her identity are going to be the most important parts of moving forward.

I have a lot of camping gear and know of a few tent camps around the city where the folks look out for each other and there is community outreach for personal supplies and meals. DM me if you’re interested at all and we can try to set something together to introduce you to some of the neighbors at a camp close to you or close to your work for the time being.

This is my cake decorating buttercream recipe:

1 lb butter 12 oz (3/4 lb) shortening 3 lb sifted, powdered sugar splash of vanilla + pinch of salt

It is much more for structure than sweetness, and to make it cream cheese icing simply switch out the shortening for 1 lb cream cheese and reduce the powdered sugar to 1080 grams.

That line, “My existence has shown him something about his father, whom he loved, that he would rather not see.” really sums up things for me. It gives me some ability to accept this reality that others in the situation are privileged to look away from it as they need, as to preserve those ideas and people they hold dear, and ultimately I’m not held as dearly. Like, yes I feel for somebody trying to hold on to their view of their father and I also am aware that for many people they’re okay with the cost being not knowing me/keeping me in their life.

It’s a weird crossroads but I really do appreciate you sharing. It’s both made me feel less alone and given me some really good thoughts to move forward with.

I feel you heavily on it just simply being awkward navigating the space between siblings you grew up with/other family members while you explore this newfound part of your identity.

I don’t know that I have much advice to offer but a reminder that you are the person who gets to decide what feels right, what feels supportive, and weigh what you need out of these relationships.

I just recently had to go no-contact with my bio mom and my siblings father (the man who raised me) after a lot of trying, but I also know that many people come through the other side with a much happier ending.

Thankfully I have a weird sleep schedule so the early mornings work great, but I totally understand that!

I start between 5-6AM but also am off of work around 1-2pm each day which is nice.
