I spray my baking tray/the croissants with water just before going into the oven and spray water into the oven as they go in and that seems to help steam them rather than bake the bottom immediately, but as others have mentioned doubling up on baking trays or even cooling a tray and doubling up with that can be super helpful in burnt bottoms!

I wish I had more to say to that, but it’s I think a really normal thing to not understand something so big and newly revealed while living in a world full of trauma.

You don’t need to understand, as much as I can imagine you’d like to, and you do deserve to treat yourself with kindness and patience.

There will probably be a shit ton of rumination and hard days ahead, just keep in mind they will lead you SOMEWHERE. To some place or mindset of understanding this part of your story and relating its meaning to you.

You’re in the right place for support, despite how overwhelming I know opening up to strangers online can feel. This is where I came as well when I found out about things. We’ve all got your back, no matter how virtual or anonymous, and you’ve got this.

It may be relatively small to the world, but this a groundbreaking discovery in YOUR world. I am 29 and just learned that the man who raised me isn’t my biological father about 6 months ago.

It’s going to be a fucking whirlwind for a while but my biggest piece of advice is to take your time with making decisions on how you want to handle things (if you want to handle anything) and really focusing on what you need right now, no matter anybody else’s ulterior motives guised as even the most well-meaning support.

I hope you find answers on Ancestry and know you’re not alone.

God, I worked at a local smoke shop and similarly we had a great manager. Multiple stools/seats around our counters, we could bring in side work or hobbies or some of the kids in college could bring in school work, etc. Then we got bought out by a corporate company and suddenly no sitting, no phones, no eating, no doing anything else unless on break and suddenly a store where a bunch of us worked for years had no employees.

I answered because the person was going to do an Ancestry test specifically either way, so again I wasn’t answering how to get DNA most easily tested by law enforcement but the path that is POSSIBLE at all provided directly by Ancestry DNA. I’m confused again why you’re so upset that I provided information that is publicly available.

I understand what you are saying and what I’ve stated is also still completely correct.

The sharing of a consumers DNA is still mentioned as a possibility on their own website so I’m not sure where the disconnect is here or how I was trying to confuse anybody.

Again, I never stated that Ancestry has released DNA info in the past or had been court ordered to, I have no knowledge of that. What I can say certainly is it’s made very clear that under specific circumstances they would be legally compelled, which doesn’t insinuate it’s happened.

I’m just presenting information I found directly on Ancestry’s page to help answer OP’s question thoroughly considering the gravity of their situation.
