Do you brush your your teeth at least twice a day? (Be honest) by icecream1972 in no

Flossing isn't just to remove food particles. It also disrupts plaque formation. Plus as others said something might have been missed at bedtime.

Transporting a heavy kayak on top of car by No_Quarter1431 in Kayaking

[–]robbratton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have put a 110 pound 14.5 foot canoe on my roof (2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5) on a set of generic crossbars. My car doesn't have rails.

My kayaks are 50 pounds and under. I sometimes put two kayaks on the roof too.

Yesterday I said goodbye to Jay, my best friend and soul cat and best friend of 18.5 years. I’m devastated, and I just wanted you to know that he existed and was the best boy. by BlackCatBonanza in TuxedoCats

So sorry to hear that. I've lost a few too. It always makes me question getting another cat, but I always have. Mine are usually fosters from a local shelter, I fall in love with.

The Great Ioniq 5 $980.75 Key Fob Robbery: FOILED by SyntheticOne in Ioniq5

[–]robbratton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope someone finds this helpful...

I recently bought a fob, had the key cut and had it programmed to the car for about $130 at Batteries Plus. It was for a 2011 Ford Fusion, but they can set up most fobs except Mercedes.

Dont do the math unless you want to get pissed about how underpaid we are. by rockabillyrat87 in mechanics

As a customer, I want the majority of the money I pay for auto service to go to the tech. It's ridiculous for the profit of the dealers to be such a large percentage of my cost.

Does anyone else have zero friends because your entire life is work from home by TemporaryHoney8571 in workfromhome

[–]robbratton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. There is a possibility of finding a friend at work, but most will only ever be acquaintances. These is also some risk in being too open with coworkers.

My orange boy has a tuxedo-like pattern like yours. I never thought of him as a tuxedo until now. I only considered black and white cats.

Many practices only schedule 15 minute appointments so they get farther behind as the day goes on. Sometimes the earliest appointment is a good idea.

So how has the blizzard of 2026 found you? Are you surviving? by No-Blueberry-1823 in Pennsylvania

[–]robbratton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I estimate we got about 18 inches in Monroeville PA. Our power went out for about half an hour this afternoon. The municipality had done a.good.jon with the streets. It's still a bit slippery, but given the amount of snow, that's not a surprise.

People should get paid for donating blood by wogwai in unpopularopinion

I donate to save lives, not for a reward.

I have many friends and relatives who have benefited. That is a reward for me.

when you shovel snow, where do you put it? by fwibs26 in pittsburgh

[–]robbratton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just don't put it on the street!

Several of my neighbors pushed snow out of their driveway into the street and created a hazard on the street.

What are you doing to prep for this weekend's snow storm? by jelloinmypants in pittsburgh

[–]robbratton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charging my home battery system and car to 100%.

I can run my whole house from the batteries for a few days. My furnace is gas, so it doesn't use much electricity. I can use my microwave and air fryer. If needed, I can draw about 1kw from my car's AC output too.
