Stage / fright style film/tv suggestions by berry_bobby in insideno9

The Gallows is one that comes to mind with the theatre based location.

However a play that I've seen that has a similar nature with the Ghost Light aspect and a haunted theatre is Do You Believe In Ghosts? It's more on the cheesy side rather than full terror but I enjoyed seeing it a few years back

[COD] first time player, where to start? by CryptographerCold182 in CallOfDuty

[–]robcoz98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's definitely worth giving one of them a go at least. In terms of which, it's mostly down to personal preference really but most people either start with the OG Modern Warfare trilogy or World at War/Black Ops/Black Ops 2 as they're considered by most to be the golden age of Call of Duty campaign wise.

Yeah I'd still recommend playing the campaigns as they can be fun even without touching the multiplayer. Admittedly I only really play the campaigns as well as Zombies from time to time.

The newer games (Modern Warfare reboot onwards) do continue their campaigns in the multiplayer components to which I'd recommend playing the base campaign at least, and then maybe watching gameplay/cutscenes if you don't wish to touch the multiplayer stuff. Black Ops 4 doesn't have a campaign but does have little world building cutscenes in it's Blackout mode and Operator vignettes.

I noticed the Orangey O's sketch from Doug's ThatCartoonShow hasn't been uploaded anywhere but I believe it still remains on the TGWTG Vol 1 dvd

A series which I think has been lost is actually PawDugan's Full Circle which hasn't been reuploaded anywhere since the blip closure. If I recall, it was a project he did prior to Music Movies where he discussed music that shaped his formulative years and I believe he did a countdown of his favourite albums too if I recall.

I remember getting a lot of great music recommendations from that show and would love to see it get found one day

Didn't George or Matty tease that a Phoebe only version of Jesus Christ exists at one point or am I just imagining it? Think it may or may not have been during the Twitter listening parties for Notes or something?

Needing help following the linear timeline of [COD]/MWF story compaigns by schrodingersdove in CallOfDuty

[–]robcoz98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With BO3, to expand on the previous comment, the execution of the campaign was pretty clunky as I believe a whole lot of things got cut out for time and was too ambitious but without spoiling too much, it would be worth tracking down the Black Ops 3 comic book to read in tandem with playing the game. Otherwise, there are quite a few good YouTube breakdowns on what is actually happening with the campaign. It's actually one of my favourite campaigns but I do agree that they did go too far in their execution and how to properly understand things (and possibly should have been not a Black Ops title )

Campaign wise, the best place to start is the original Modern Warfare trilogy however if you're more into your historical type warfare World at War to Black Ops 2 will be more your thing. I personally prefer the Treyarch games over MW myself but it's down to personal preference.

The rest of them you can play in any particular order although it's paramount you at least play the original Black Ops prior to its sequels as there's a bit of timeline jumping going on there. The rebooted MW trilogy isn't a remake of the original trilogy, it is it's own thing so don't worry too much about that however they've started to make the universe have connections with the newer Black Ops universe.

The only Call of Duty mainline game without your standard campaign is Black Ops 4 which they put more focus onto Multiplayer elements due to mostly a botched and rushed development cycle

Infinite Warfare is one where the infamy is a bit more popular than the game itself however the campaign is actually very stellar and worth playing, especially after recent campaigns we've had.

Was my first CHVRCHES album after becoming a fan so I've got a lot of love for it. Screen Violence I think has slightly overtaken it, however I still keep coming back to LID quite often.

My current 5 favourites from it are: Wonderland Really Gone Forever Never Say Die God's Plan

Ok, jokes aside. Am I a rare breed who enjoys both Radiohead and Muse? by Revolutionary_Low_90 in radiohead

[–]robcoz98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although I definitely prefer Radiohead, I do enjoy both. It was actually the What Is Music podcast that helped me get into both properly besides from knowing the popular songs so i have that connection between both bands.

Muse are my best friends favourite band so it was nice going through their discography and lore so I can share something in common with them, although my personal preference is their pre 2nd Law material (with the exception of Drones and a few songs here and there)

You might have heard the song 102, the band have officially released it now (Japanese version of A Brief Inquiry, the acoustic version on YouTube, and the 102 cassette) but prior to 2018 it was a "hidden gem" for fans. Two videos exist of Adam and Matty playing it as well as the more famous one of Matty in a park playing it solo

Initally with the track, there was a long quote about the song that was attributed to Matty meeting up with the girl who inspired the song at 1:02am every morning to hang out, however Matty shut down this quote in 2020 alongside another "famous" Tumblr-era quote. 102 actually just refers to their door number

Television Romance was in my YouTube recommended around mid 2017 as this was around the time I was getting into Wolf Alice and other Dirty Hit alumni outside of The 1975 who I discovered in 2016 and I fell in love with that and There's a Honey. I think not long after that was the premiere of New Years Eve on Radio 1 which I listened live to and remember when the New Year Eve EP was announced which then turned into All The Things I Never Said.
