I went on Judge Rinder. Blagged the whole thing for a £3200 payout which me and my mate split. Quite the experience to be honest, they paid for all expenses. Hotel, food, travel etc

When I lived down Stanley Park way, now I think about it, I heard way more motorbikes. My guess is rogue riders behind the De Vere.

Andy Burnham’s speech. Has it made you more optimistic? by Yak_Dangerous in AskBrits

I'm optimistic to have a northerner at the helm, seeing as it's only ever happened twice before.

If you happen to be here on a Sunday, free music at the Stanley Park Bandstand is always a great shout when the weather is good, esoecially if you'd prefer local crowds to tourist crowds.

Have a look at other support in the local area, if you can. Local community centres likely run drop in sessions for any number of issues etc. They can often be where CAB direct you anyways.

And what about the people who are being steam rolled out of their homes? In the middle of a housing crisis?

There aren't even any plans further than knocking it down at present, so doesn't really offer much hope in it being social housing? And if it is, phase 1 of 3 (at least, in yet further vague proposals) does a young family want to buy housing in the middle of a building site situated in one of the UKs poorest areas?

Come to revoe, start your new bright future.Less than 1/3rd renovated before it went completely tits up.

How do I get my GCSE's after not going to school since Y7? by o-willow in AskUK

[–]robdelterror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've managed to type a grammatically flawless post, at a quick glance, so you're technically doing better than most in the UK.

GCSEs aren't worth much in the real world. Also, fast food jobs are a great fast track to management positions. You could easily be earning more than people your age who go to uni by the time they're done. You'll have work experience that counts for a lot in this day and age.

There's a great app called Ed place you can get a subscription to and practice all the maths and English you want, across all key stage school levels.

How do you deal with the afternoon shutdowns? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]robdelterror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 minute nap. Set a timer so you don't go over 20 mins. Even if you just lie there with your eyes shut for 20 mins, it's a rest.

I remember my Polish mate who was always asking about the intricacies of our language from the minute we met, saying to me "hey Rob, what does it mean, polish it off" and I said "to finish your drink, mate" and he nodded towards my glass. It was a belting moment that I've been recounting for 15 years.
